I'm replacing my XBOX 360 with a 120GB Slim PS3 only for Pro Evo!

Guys! I'm planning to buy a 120GB slim PS3 only to play Pro Evo 2010. I think PES 2010 is the best football game ever made, yes that's above the PES 5 and slightly overrated PES 6 (in my opinion). About 90% percent of my gaming is football and in particular, Pro Evo. I currently have an XBOX 360 and I'm getting really tired of how cumbersome it is to transfer data into the box. I hate that I'd never able to get shiny emblems and perfectly made kits. That's such a shame. I really hate that I'd never be able to get proper chants into the game. The default game chants are such a pain. If I had a PS3, I'd also have a huge choice of option files and other files/utilities.

I'm planning to buy the PS3 sometime this week. What are your thoughts? You have any thoughts or views on this decision of mine? Please let me know. Cheers!

If you see the Bolloxmasta Patch for XBOX360 (free of course) in the PES2010 Edition forum in this page you can see an option.

Everyway...IMO if you want more freedom for create your own patch for PES2010 PS3 or a good PC are the best options.

Thanks mate! It's not just about the option files, it's about the ease of transfering files, the ability to add PNG files for emblems and kits, the ability to add chants pack etc.

I'm not sure if Bolloxmasta's patch would help me as I have an unmodded XBOX. Even when I buy PS3, I'd leave it unmodded. Thanks anyway.

You should consider the controller too. The 360 controller is more robust, and if you're like me and went through about five PS2 controllers playing WE/PES on the PS2, so you might be a bit concerned about going back to that kind of controller. Mind you, maybe the PS3 controllers are more robust...

Also, personally I like the analogue stick on the 360 better, expecially now that we're using it with 360 movement. I've heard some people have trouble with the PS3 controller analogue sticks because of their positioning and also because it's easier for your thumb to slip off. Just a few things to consider, but overall I think it's a good idea.

Demon Souls is a great game on PS3 that you can't get on 360 by the way, as is Metal Gear of course.

I already ditched my Xbox360 for a PS3 slim when PES2010 came out.
It's quieter, smaller, less cumbersome (no big lump of a power pack) and better build quality in my opinion.
The quality of picture is about the same, not much in it. The Xbox360 customer support was excellent. I don't know about customer support for the PS3 because i have not had any problems yet. The biggest difference i think is if you play online. The PS3 online players seem to be way better at 2010 than Xbox online players.

All about preference really, I'm currently an Xbox 360 owner and I'll buy a PS3 soon, but not at it's current price if I'm honest. The main reasons I'd buy a PS3 over a 360 are for Blu-Ray capabilities and the odd game such as Uncharted 2, apart from that I'm not really sure there's anything else that catches my eye.

I find the Xbox 360 to be more than amazing online, even if it costs money every year. Also as our Canadian friend mentioned above, the Xbox 360 controller feels very natural, it seems to mould nicely around the hand with the analog stick being in the perfect position to use.

But like everything, as we all know, it's a matter of preference - and also friends. It's no use having a PS3 and all your friends own 360's, and vice versa. As for option file transfers, it does seem easier and more popular on the PS3, but it is still very easy to do with the Xbox 360; it's just not as popular so there's less files available really.

Either way, both consoles have pros and cons, and both are immense to be fair.

I have both so I can comment.
Both are good in their own ways. But the ps3 does not overheat and gives far less errors than the 360. I had my 360 replaced. I bought my ps3 last February. I never had a problem with it thankfully and believe me, I play alot when new games are out.
But the ps3 online is weak. FACT. It's so weak compared to my xbox. They're in the same room and at times my ps3 won't even connect while my 360 just powers up and connects without a problem. Even wehn downloading. The pes demo on ps3 took an hour and over while on the 360 it took 40-45 minutes.
As for the controller. The 360 wins hands down. It's more comfortable. But the ps3 one, charges with the ps3 so no battreys to buy.

its a sideways step in my opinion swapping 360 for ps3

Ps3 Pisses over 360 in most areas (i have both) but 360s online, not necessarily the connection just the useabilty is alot better.
