And I have no idea how to change my Scouts level from 4 to 5, I have looked all over the menus trying to figure it out and I have no clue ha.

EDIT: I've found other answers about not being able to change the scout till after the season. So there is no way to bid on players like the old days?
To change scout levels go to Team Office from main menu and then into Operating Costs and change it there. You can do it from the start, no need to wait a season. The scout puts in a bid but if you are successful you can change the price.

- Try to negotiate a couple of weeks before the january and june-july transfer windows. That way, even if the move is rejected, you can go for the guy again during the transfer window.
Totally agree with this. I have had success signing players that are open to negotiation. Key for me as I am using Nottingham Forest and in Div 2 - funds are tough to come by.

haha great. I am playing as arsenal, in my second season of the ML. The only players i have been able to bring in is those "open to negotiations". I bid for a lot of players Villa, Eto, Gourceff etc..... with transfer negotiations always breaking down. I bid for Torres, he accepts he cost me €67m

Has anyone experienced that the cpu teams are insanely slow at making approaches for your players? You go to "my team" and select a certain player and see that there are some teams in contact. But i don't receive any bids for an entire negotiation period despite of this. Strange..

The CPU seems to have been pretty quick to snap up my irregulars - certainly many more transfers out of the club than in any previous version. I've sold about 7 or 8 in the last 2 seasons.

about that "in contact" thing, i hate the CPU, it always bids the last day of the negotiations so i cant negotiate the bid.. end up turning down all offers lol..

Anyone I put on the transfer/loan list will start having other clubs watching them. I dont always get offers but I think its due to the Scout turning away offers befoe you see them.

I put the 31 year old Gargano up for sale at the end of season, he was rated 90 overall but was getting old and was due to renegotiate his salary up from 3m to 12m! I didnt get one offer despite a few clubs being in contact. I reckon they weren't bidding enough and the scout turned em down. The following January I got a bid of 38m and let him go. Basically its probably easier to sell lesser players who are valued about 10-15m

you don't have to do that! you can negotiate all season long! only the 'real transfer' can be done in the transfer window..

so during the season you can agree with a club to sell your player to them, in the transfer window your player will leave..

Another tip from me concern big money purchases you make:
We all want those Agueros, Benzemas, Zarates, Gourcuffs and who not on our team, but the CPU makes us pay big time more often than not.
So once you are tabled an offer from the CPU, consider your current bankroll, your team's salary, the additional salary that the new player will cost and the transfer fee, or otherwise you may be confronted with a really uncomfortable situation some time in the near future.

Example:
I desperately wanted Benzema on my team. I approached him numerous times, that is: every time my approach was turned down I would pursue him again, I did that since my very first day of the ML.
Now, just over midway through the second season I finally got an offer from Real Madrid, asking for 107€ million and a 15€ million salary. I suppose that I could have gotten that down to about 85-90€ and 12€ million. At first I was uber happy that I could finally get him and was well happy with my bankroll of about 185€ million. But I then realised, that paying a transfer fee of about 90€ million and a team salary that would total about just over 100€ million including Benzema, would leave me with a negative or close to zero bankroll in September after I would have paid the team's salary, staff etc. Which would have meant that I would have needed to quit playing after the following season.

So I ended up turning the offer down.

Obviously, if you have players to sell which can get you the money back, that's a slightly different scenario, but I would still advise you to be careful with those transfers.
