Sminky, you have beaten Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal at Loftus Road. You have drawn with Newcastle. Apart from the first one, this is all good.
But Sminky, if you don't take points from Spurs, I may have to blame you. And that may result in a ban, I'm afraid. |

I'm afraid, Sminky, should you allow Spurs a win, I would also have to top this up with a second ban of my own. I think that's fair.

b) You'll probably be banned from the whole section by the time those matches come about, so there's really nothing in this bet.

Right to today's game. The adrenaline and euphoria has passed so I now give an honest appraisal of todays game without my Superhoop glasses on. First things first, Arsenal for large periods dominated play, their problem was that our 5 man midfield played relatively narrow and deep. We played alot of long ball to Zamora, who really bullied Koscielny and Vermaelen, to the point that the latter eventually got booked for complaining to the referee one too many times about it.
It was a sloppy goal that Arsenal conceded for the first, if Arsenal insist on playing a high line they have to get the lines spot on when pushing up. On several occasions they didn't and they were spared by some fairly questionable decisions from the linesman at the Ellersie Road stand (he gave 3 clear on-sides as off against QPR and later said Robin Van Persie was on when he looked a clear yard offside). Taarabt took his goal really well and the booking for putting a fez on by the ref show's how the law is an ass. As if celebrating a goal warrants a booking unless it threatens fan safety. Stupid. Arsenal's goal was fairly fortunate, although the did have a couple of decent chances to score prior to their equaliser so it would be unfair to say they didn't deserve their goal. Until that point though we had been breaking with purpose against Arsenal, Zamora worked very hard to hold the ball up and bring the midfield into play to the point he was knackered before half time. Arsenal didn't really cope with the hostile atmosphere, especially in the second half when they taking set pieces by the upper loft. Van Persie looked a little uncomfortable to the chants of "She said no Robin, she said no, Oh Robin she said no" whereas Walcott laughed off his stick. We played quite well at times in the 2nd half, Diakite, Derry and Barton really put a shift in hassling Arsenal's midfield going in hard to win the ball. The goal by Diakite was from one of those occurrences. In fact Arsenal didn't have an answer to our gameplan or the aggression in our tackling. In terms of who turned up for Arsenal today, I have to say it was easily Rosicky. Van Persie, who I had been looking forward to watching was really quite awful. Stinker by his standards. Walcott was a bit average and Vermaelen let the atmosphere get to him. For QPR, Barton was welcomed back into the fans bosom with his performance, chants of "We got our Captain back" evidence all is forgiven. Taiwo and Diakite gave incredible performances compared to recent games. Derry and Clint Hill were absolutely fantastic, Hill in particular kept the defence tight and Anton really benefited from Clint's leadership. If anything, the Cisse red card now looks like a god send as we have a system and personnel fit well in place. Of course the problem is that it may count for nothing seeing as our rivals also won. Also this is typical QPR, raise the levels for the big guns and falter in the must win games. At least the result gives some optimism. We'll lose at United, obviously but the real key games are still to come against Stoke, WBA & Swansea. If we play like today, we'll pick up points. |

I really wished I had this one on my TV today. They will replay it midweek here and will probably give it a whirl. I imagine they could keep Cisse benched after the suspension just out of principle. Cisse was looking dangerous a few games ago when they were just bombing it up to him and letting him try and beat someone one on one. That was the everton match I think; but forget now.

Sminky, you should be saving every shilling for Itunes downloads. Stop throwing your hard earned money at Van Persie.

Tomorrow's match is completely irrelevant now thankfully. After Bolton and Wigan lost it means we can focus on getting through tomorrow with no injuries and look to win the Swansea game.
I expect we'll lose at least 3-0 as it happens. |

Why does the poll not have a "TAIWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" option? To clarify, it means you're going down the way Wolves are. Which you aren't.

Without meaning to sound negative, do you really think you'll beat the Swans? Okay, they lack any serious goal threat, but their work rate and ability to control the pace and possession for 90 mins is excellent... I can't see QPR coping for more than 70.

Taye had a good game against Arsenal. He was due a decent game.
Quote:
If they came to Loftus Road and sat back we'd be buggered but because they will try to take the game to us they'll live space in behind them. We drew 1-1 at their gaff earlier in the season under Warnock as well so I've every reason to be positive - especially after the Arsenal game. Swansea are in danger of being seriously overhyped. Wigan came to Loftus Road controlled the game and lost 3-1 because they were so open, its what I expect from Swansea. Playing on the counter is exactly what we need if we're going to survive. |
