Aye, that is the Hughes way, he loves industrious players. That said, Diakite is a lot more skillful than his clumsy demeanour portrays. Personally I wonder how long Hughes' patience will last with Adel, he rarely performs, dilly dallies on the ball and gives up far too easily.

Really? He's a shadow of the player he was at PSV and all you will get from his now is industry rather than the old Park that had blistering pace and could skip past people for fun.

Park is there to steady the ship. He'll sit centre mid with Diakite and Faurlin, with Samba doing all the running. Looks good. |

SWP deserves better. He's slightly old, but his talent shouldn't be wasted on the bench so should be put into the line-up but the only problem is I can't see a vacant space for him.

He was onne of your best players in the first half of the season in my opinion. When Hughes came in, he played less and had lower confidence and failed. He needs a chance because he is deadly at the top of his form. Well, better than Taarabt atleast

SWP has never been the same since he contracted the Chelsea bit-player syndrome.
He's underperformed far too often to be guaranteed as a first team player. Bloody waste by all accounts.

Abu, I'm a season ticket holder and that's not true at all. He played well against Newcastle on his debut but aside from that he offered very little. The turning point was the disallowed goal against West Brom, if that had gone in his confidence really would have been lifted. Hughes dropped him because he was so dire and because Mackie did something Shaun couldn't, beat his man and drive towards goal.

SWP's main strength, and 'signature move' if you like, which he had in his early days at Man City, was his raw pace and ability to get past a man. He's fucked now because that's no longer with him. Bench for SWP is about right for him now. He can still do a decent job if coming off of the bench as an impact sub, but not the full 90 minutes..
Park's a great signing for QPR imo. A real signing of intent to stay up again and become a stable, mid-table side for the time being anyway. Who knows what may lie in the future for QPR... Players like Park are a dream for managers to have in their squad.

You could tell Wright-Phillips was gonna be shit at QPR ever since his first interview on transfer deadline day.
He's approaching 31 now, just can't perform to the level he has previously in his career when he'd skipped past players for fun. |

Like I said before, he had a decent debut against Newcastle, he just looked lacklustre from that point onwards. Seems bereft of any confidence now. Ought to sell him and get shot of him and save the money we're ploughing into his wages.

I watched a few clips of Park's press conference for QPR; unless he was surrounded by family members, it seemed so shallow to pull out a flock of asian women to flank him during the interview. What is up with that? I guess they are a harem of air asia flight attendants? do they do the same for other signings; I can't find pictures of Diakite's conference to see if he was surrounded by Mali women, Asian women, or no women at all.
![]() I also did not realize Park rejected an offer of higher wages at United to move to QPR for playing time http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...r-move?cc=5901 |

RE: The Asian air stewardesses
Whilst Fernandes clearly didn't miss an opportunity to pander to the Asian Market (after all, Fernandes is Malaysian), the air stewardesses were regularly at Loftus Road last season for promotional guff. Its not as if they were wheeled out especially for Park, if anything Fernandes will use any excuse to promote the Air Asia brand ... after all, he owns it. Also, its not really any different from Man Utd signing Asian players, then touring round Asia and making obsequious remarks about their Asian fans. It's about making money. Pot. Kettle. |
