Anyone won any of those or made it to the knock-out round?

I find it pretty hard my self as i am used to anti-football so i win 3 consecutive games but my GD is always like +3 or +4 and i get knocked-out because of that, hows your experience with it? which tactics do you use and what's ur starting XI? i'll start with mine :

I will help you out but hopefully the thread will be moved to the correct section...

First off I think that you might want to change your formation to have 3 Offensive players all the time. Also I would prefer to see two better defensive midfielder players. You might get away with that defensive but it looks a little bit dodge.

I recommend these players:
OFF Players:
Javi Martinez...Quality. Lose Almeida.
Semih...good player. Cheap.
Floccari...good player. 2.6 million I think.

Def midfielders:
Donadel... very good. cheap.
Tymoschuk...amazing player for cheap.

All these players above link up well together and should easily qualify your team.

Offensive support around 10
Player Support Range around 10
Offside trap = Yes

Dont worry about exposure down the wings your team should be okay defensively but should be much more dangerous going forward. Use lots of L1-X passing and keep moving the ball quickly with these players and you should be okay.

Made it twice to the knock-out phase ever since i bought those players and switched the formations and i am in a promotion spot now too .

Btw you tried Engelaar before? he is a real destroyer you wouldn't ask me to change him :P.

And really sorry i didn't notice we had an Online section so i request from one of the moderators to move this thread .

Not a fan of the whole "throw everyone into attack" style of football people play online. But if you don't score tons of goals you won't make it far in competitions because that is what everyone else is doing.

I think this has more to do with how the game plays and not as much people being douches. If the game could reliably demonstrate the positives and negatives of all types of football I think we would see more realistic formations. As it is, the game is set up for players to exploit one style over others.
