perhaps someone who played review code of PES2012 could post up rhe game's explanations of the player attributes and player index cards?
when you select a player's attribute in edit mode such as strength after a few seconds a yellow bar appears with details of what that attribute is used for. simarly the player index section explains the use of the cards. this level of information would be priceless to paul in developing the converter! it would certainly help to figure out the new attributes and this whole resistance 1-3 scoring has got me scratching my head. |

So basically the main stats (29 or so I think) haven't changed? All that's happened is the injury proneness has gone from letters to numbers and the OFF, S/OFF etc has been moved to the ability sections and transformed into numbers too?
if so i can live that, and the converter is still fully usable! People will just need to advised to ues their own player knowledge?! Few more questions for the discussion then, im confused by the use of word 'resisrance', does it mean that a player with a attacking resistance of 3 is unlikley to attack or does it mean he unlikley to defend? sorry but Konami have been using the stats in a positive context all these years but now theyve introduced a negative I dont know it's meant in a negative! I hope you know what I mean?! Also it worth considering a rule that the resistance is scored based on positions? i.e. a CF who can play no other position is scored with attack resistance 3, a CF who san play CM is scored 2 and a CF who can play CB is scored 1? |

I think with this stats it will all have to be on personal knowledge of the player. 3 means they are likely to attack/defend, 2 sometimes attack/defend & 1 rarely attack defend.
As an example if you look at Rooney's stats in the demo he has a 3 for each rating.

i've been doing the Attack/Defence awareness stats based on my knowledge of my players, while i've been playing FM i have been paying more attention cause i have a couple of strikers who like to get back to defend a bit more than others so they get a 2 on their defence stat for example.
also just as a note, i've found the overall defence stat (out of 99) is quite high on my players, i've had 3 of my players on 98 and above, so i subtracted 10 from each player. just thought you should know if you needed any corrections. |

Paul can you note that? Bearing in mind the PM I've just sent you, well need to take that into consideration, there's also the fact that Gortop's was not perfect for the PES heading stat and Ortegaz's wasnt spot on either, this is our main challenge! All, Making good progress with the converter! Still getting over my biggest challenge of calculating the best positions... all will become clear in due course but I'm sure you'll all love it ![]() |

I mean, for me I want a really accurate converter so my fm team can be as good as they are on fm, but not better cause it'll be so easy.
the team is top quality so making it better will be boring. has anyone else got any more corrections for the converter, we still have a month before release day to perfect this! |

okay that's great. I am going to go through all my players again just to make sure that everything is spot on cause then you can make a few more corrections.
and I will probably go on fm later and check stats and preferred moves in case I missed something the first time round. really looking forward for the final one cause I know a couple of people that were interested in getting the converter. but they only really wanted a really accurate and complete converter that was fully updated to the new game. |

Ok,
I've been working hard on this converter! Here's a list of things ive done to it; Rather than selecting different sheets depending on the players position in FM the converter will now calculate the players best position and also any secondry positions he could/should play. This means the whole converter will be on two excel worksheets. I now have it calculating the players correct age, so long as users have their PCs/Laptops set to the right date format this will work! i'll give instructions on this on release. I've added a few more aesthetics (background etc) so that in years to come we can keep it looking fresh. Wait for it... here's the big one... I now have the converter able to calculate a players FM preferred moves and tell us the player index cards for PES YEEEHAAAA. I'll finish this off tonight and that will only leave the stat calculations left to enter/workout This is taking a little while guys because i've been using both Gortop's and Ortegaz's converter as a guide so I get it right! Paul, could you (or anyone else) tell me the attack/defence calculations that you've found to work please? Ideally i'd like to work on getting the converter to work out a players development curve but this could be a mission so i'll leave it for a while but keep thinking and working on it! I'm loving it right now so stick with me and i'm sure you'll love what it's going to be like! |

Oh and I say I've sorted the player index cards I mean the P cards as in, Track Back, Mazing Run etc NOT the S cards as in Roulette skills and scissor skills etc i cant find a way of using FM to make the players individual enough for these so this will probably have to be done using your own player knowledge!
Here's the basis I've done the player index cards on... Classic No.10: Dictates Tempo Anchor Man: Stays Back At All Times Trickster: Tries Tricks Darting Run: Gets Forward Whenever Possible & Pace Stat 15+ Mazing Run: Dribbling Stat 17+ Pinpoint Pass: Tries Long Range Passes & Passing Stat 15+ Early Cross: UPDATE - When I search on Genie Scout with Stats of Crossing: 12 and Anticipation:12 I get around 4000 players out of a possible 300,000+. So, I think we should go with, PES Positions, RB,LB,RM,LM,RWF,LWF & SS that have ,FM stats of Crossing: 12 and Anticipation: 12, If you hate this idea then let me know ASAP! Box to Box: Work Rate Stat 17+ QUESTION FOR ALL - Do we think this card should be given to CFs, SSs? Or de we think that the tracking back card will be good enough? Could also include RWF/LWF in that question too! Incisive Run: Cuts Inside Long Ranger: Shoots Long Enforcer: Dives Into Tackles + Dirtiness Stat 12+ (such as Gattuso, McCulloch etc) Goal Poacher: Likes To Beat Offside Trap Dummy Runner: Looks For Pass Rather Than Score Free Roaming: Gets Forward Whenever Possible Talisman: Influence Stat 15+ (this includes the likes of Steven Gerrard) Fox in the Box: UPDATE - A player with CF either as his registered or secondary position who either, Plays With Back To Goal or Gets Into Channels QUESTION FOR ALL - Let me know if you think this should be a CF who does both, Plays With Back To Goal AND Gets Into Channels Offensive Fullback: If RB and or LB as registered position and gets forward whenever possible Track Back: Comes Deep To Get Ball 1-touch play: Plays One Twos Outside Curve: Uses Outside Of Foot Long Throw: Long Throws Stat 16+ Long Range Drive: Shoots With Power (such as Nani & Rooney) + Shoots Long Super-sub: Versatility & Determination Stats 15+ (based on PES increasing this player's stats = the player wanting to try harder to impress) |

OK guys,
I've been looking at using FM to decide which PES S Cards (Roulette Skills, Scissor Skills etc) players should get and this is what I've come up with. Tries To Play Out Of Trouble & Dribbling 12+ and/or Tries Tricks & Dribbling 12+ This will give a box in the converter called "Flicks & Tricks". If this box is highlighted this signifies that we need to give at least one of the S cards to that player. Again, it will probably have to be up to the individual user to decide which cards based on knowing the player at least a little or a certain amount of real thinking based the rest of the players stats. This is because the PES dribbling Accuracy stat may not be the highest, and this could be correct, but the player is still silly enough to try things in defence or try to trick his way past defender but isn't actually good enough! I think this may actually give us some added realism if the individual user of the converter does it right and within reason! |

Sounds great Vinnie just a couple of suggestions from me
![]() For Long Range Drive I would go with Long Shots rating 17+ as its how skilled they are. Your suggestions for the skill cards (Roulette etc) sound good though personally I think these are best done manually. With the Attack/Defence rating which one do you mean the old ones or the new awareness ones?
