I agree with Paul. For me, a player only deserves a P-Card (and a star behind his overall number) if he has a high stat like 17+

So, for example Darting Run, i think that the Pace stat should be 17+, the same for Pinpoint Pass.

As for the S-Cards, I don't think that there is a need for a very high stat, so 16+ for Long Throw seems about right for me.

Well, those are just my opinions anyway

I started using Paul's converter a week or two ago, and I'm really anxious for this new version.

For Long Range Drive I would go with Long Shots rating 17+ as its how skilled they are.

Your suggestions for the skill cards (Roulette etc) sound good though personally I think these are best done manually.

With the Attack/Defence rating which one do you mean the old ones or the new awareness ones?

I started using Paul's converter a week or two ago, and I'm really anxious for this new version.

Points taken on board boys, my only further thought on the cards is that the more variables you put in the more you narrow down which and how many players get those cards, all the time we see players in lower division able to shoot from range and do certain things but things like PES and FM put their overall stats down to make their team the underdog when they play the big boys, for me this is about the player, and if he is capable in real life them he should be via the converter too.

Uploading a zip file now lads ill send it to you both let me know what you think, and if you wnat me to tweak/do anymore with it. I'll be home from work at 14:00 GMT.

When I receive the file I'll test it with some Brazilian players I know and are usually underrated in PES, so I can give you my thoughts

But I'm sure it will be good, you are putting lots of efforts into it.

By the way, FM2012 is due to be released on 21 October 2011, not sure if you guys already knew it.

there are no "normal" stat conversions for dribbling etc, ive sent you it with as far as if got. So its just got the bits ive done on the cards, positions age and backgrounds etc. I need some pointers on the normal stats,

I'd like you both to endorse it thus far and i'll crack on with the other conversion calculations!

Thats ok about FM2012 the converter can easily be updated so long as not too much changes from FM2011, If it has then we can run with this on and give people a Genie Scout for FM11 that I have with a save game and then work on a new converter for later!!

Ive got it back from Paul now and once ive had a look I'll send it you for testing! One or two things to get our heads round first,maybe you could help...

Attack/defence resistance stats any idea on the criteria we could use to calculate this?

Firstly, I used the Fast Striker and Target striker because on Genie Scout these are listed with all of the other positions and so it thought that would make the conversion process a bit easier for people, we really need to make this as painless as possible! What's more for me a "free role" could be any of the attaching players so even a CM.

I think we should include this int he debate, guys what do we think?

I'll get cracking the attack/defence stats based on position now and then work out what other variables we may need to consider for these.

Let me know as far as youve got with the Attack/Defence awareness thing and we can bang our heads together on that once ive got to it.

Perhaps we'll need to have a GK spreadsheet of results and outfield player sheet? i'll take a look and see where i get to!

I also think the results are a bit high but i dont think we should base this on the PES overall score for the player, we should break it down and base it on converting the scores given to the player in FM and find out the equivalent in PES attribute by attribute. At the end of the day a player of 85 can be come a player of 82 just by changing his registered position in PES.

I'll take a look at it all and send it back to you at the end of the weekend. Got a PES tounament at a mates on sunday so could even be Saturday.

UPDATES as today goes on...

Ok forget that about the position thing, I've changed the converter to use the position ratings from the "Positions" tab of the genie scout screen.

We will need to use either our own knowledge of the player or use the position FM Genie Scout gives as the players registered position.

I've also now altered the Free Roaming Card to include the "Gets Into Opposition area" preferred move from FM.

Maybe there's a way to calculate the Attacking/Defense awareness of a player according to his 'Positions' tab in Genie Scout? For example, Real Madrid's Marcelo:

Defender: 18
Wing Back: 20
Midfielder: 15
Attacking Midfielder: 16

So he has a high Attack and Defense Awareness. Now let's analyze Arbeloa:

Defender: 20
Wing Back: 10
Midfielder: 3

So Arbeloa has a high Defense awareness and a low Attack awareness.

I think that this can't be calculated in the converter, so it would be up to the person who is converting to check the player's position overview.

Edit: Or maybe checking the player's Positional Rating? I don't really know, I'm just throwing possibilities in this thread.

Keep making your suggestions mate, there all really helpful and while one of us is thinking of one thing another one us maybe thinking of another thing! So, its good to get this stuff recorded on here so that when we try to make it happen we bounce the ideas around!!

What did you think when you tried it??

Attack & Defence stats sorted

Altered the Free Roaming card based on the registered position of the player and his preferred moves

Not entirely happy about the weak foot accuracy and weak foot usage being the same all the time, I'll investigate that and see what happens...

SORTED weak use accuracy and usage now based on the players creativity

Attack/Defence Awareness next! I've had an idea based on peixe's idea let you all know how I get on! Watch this space... I'm loving this

Ok I'll send you the file thus far soon... once I've inputted the calculations for the Attack/Defence Awareness, oh yeah baby you heard me right i've worked something out just have to see if it works

I've also added a better method for working out the players form too. Paul was right the stats look a bit over rated right now but that's easily sorted!

I'm off to watch An Idiot Abroad 2 now so I'll continue again later and hopefully get the Attack/Defence Awareness scores done tonight.

So far my calculations are working, hopefully ready for a test at some point tomorrow.

Paul, if you can play with the draft version you've got to see if you can get the stats rated lower (more reasonable) let me know how you do and if you can sort something, post them up and I'll copy them in!
