Finishing 1v1

Hi, I'm new to the PES series (well, I haven't played it seriously since PES6) but I've downloaded the PES 2012 demo and I really like it, but I have one problem... how the heck do I do a simple side foot finish into the bottom corner when I'm 1v1 with the keeper?

I've tried every button combination I can think of, but my player always smashes it powerfully with his laces, even if I only lightly tap the shoot button. I know I must sound like a right noob here but it's pretty frustrating when I create a great chance only for Rooney or Ibra or whoever I'm using to just smash it straight at the keeper.

Thanks

normally to place it (side foot) its R2 bt it still seems a bit inconsistent something im sure konami will work on up to release.

I have scored many placed shots in the demo so far.
So, first and foremost, make sure you have space and time it right. You don't want to just instantly press the placing and expect it to work. You have to know before you do the action.

Anyway, so as I said, find space, press the shot button (slightly above the middle preferably), AND THEN, you press the R2 along with left or right for the curl. But yeah, press R2 just before the player makes contact with the ball.

Ah right, so if I just tap the shoot button very lightly and press RT/R2 afterwards, the player will sidefoot the ball into the bottom corner? Or do I have to hold the shoot button for a little while before pressing RT/R2?

^You can tap it when you're near the keeper, it will generally be more accurate, but when from outside the box, hold the shot button a little longer, and then tap RT/R2 and left or right for the curl.

Bite.Me has stepped out of the darkness into slightly less darkness

This is my speciality!

1- Approach the opposing goal area.

2- If you are 1 on 1 with time, slow down a bit (no need to sprint your way through)

3- Angle your run so your dominant foot is in a good position for the shot

4- If you can, and the keeper hasn't left the goal too much, enter the penalty box.

5- Press square (shot button) (not too much, just a bit more than a tap, if you're outside the box, you need to apply more power to the shot)

6- Imediately press R2 (RT in Xbox) to do a side foot shot (it's Square + R2, not both at the same time) (by this time you should already have the stick in the right direction for the shot placement)

7- Enjoy your goal!
