Pesgaming Twitter Account

There might already be one of these, but, if there is, I'm not aware of it. Anyway, I thought it might be a good idea for someone to create an official Pesgaming twitter account - with only the admins having the password obviously - where news about PES/the site could be posted. I feel it would also be a good way to advertise the site and attract new members.

Any thoughts?

I remember bringing this up once in the staff forum but everyone ignored me. We'd need someone who is up to date with the PES news and such so I don't think any of the admins would be suitable. It's probably something one of the bloggers could do if they were interested.

I see what you mean. The only problem with the bloggers is that they may not be up-to-date with what's going on in the forums e.g. Member Wars. I think perhaps the solution would be to allow both admins and bloggers access to the account.

That would be an idea but unfortunately I doubt any of the bloggers will visit this thread and I don't have any of their contact details. In any case it would probably have to go through Matt Holme anyway as we would be representing his website. I'll see if I can raise it with Matt Holme and will relay what he says.

Its a good idea but can't see Matt Holme going for it, as Mike said, its his website ... until he sells ... which he doesn't want to.

That said he doesn't seem to fussed with the site as it manages itself in his eyes so on the other hand perhaps this is a goer.

I don't see why he'd object to it - all this would do is advertise the site, which is surely a good thing?

In case anyone is still interested, Dan Bolas and Matt Holme were very positive about the idea of a twitter account and Dan will hopefully be running an account from some time next month. It has already been created if anyone wants to follow from now @PESGaming

Good stuff. I've followed it. I expect a personal e-mail of thanks for the idea from Matt Holme or else all hell's gonna break lose.

I hope the admins have access to the account as well, as I feel it's important that news is posted about the forums and not just the front page. I would also change the account info bit - Surely we can do better than 'Fan site for the Konami soccer franchise PES?' The 'soccer' part could at least be changed to 'football'.

I believe it was just a token account created in order to test the links on the new front page hence why there have only been two test messages posted from the account from a month ago. I'm sure we will be able to work out a way of getting the forum news onto the account, if there is any and the info part will be updated if necessary.

Best way to do that is to email them forum news. Dan Bolas is a prompt replier of emails so he'd be the best choice.
