After installing this update and trying to run it, my AVG anti virus software detected a trojan in the rld.dll. (Trojan horse generic4_c.CAFH). Has anyone else had this problem? Is it an error in the anti virus software or is it a legit trojan?

Hi bibu,

For me it was automatically detected by my av and quarantined. Do you have av installed and was it detected & removed?

If not check this page out. There are various suggestions on here. They may help:

Btw, once I'd removed the rld.dll I had to uninstall pes and then reinstall it again.

Regards

I ran into the same issues last year with PES 2011, the PESEdit.com patches and AVG. I even had AVG "break" PES 2011 two or three times after I manually installed the patches. In the end, to save myself the headaches and aggravation, I just uninstalled AVG and went with avast! (there is a free downlaod from CNET.com). Haven't had an issue since.

Thanks for the reply! So It looks as if AVG is mistakenly identified the rld.dll as a trojan? Well I'll bear this in mind as I'm still suspicious. Although it seems like very few other people are having problems so you're probably right.

Thanks again!

Jenks

No, I've not tried since I reinstalled pes. I'd have to change my av and I'm not willing to do that for this mod. I'll probably check out another patch/option file instead.

rld.dll is the reloaded release DLL you get when downloading pirate games from the internet instead of buying them, so its too late your already infected with the trojan its got nothing to do with this patch.

No, I bought my game from HMV in the UK (£19.99). The rld.dll was installed via the PESEdit.com 2012 1.3 patch that was downloaded from the link in this post.

I doubt that the guy`s who made the patch would knowingly release with a virus.
AVG will not let you put a DLL in the exceptions list.
so before starting the game, open AVG/tools/advanced settings/temporarily disable, and turn of your router, then start the game.offline only
obvously no good for online play.
or use another anti-virus program

AVG is a decent free antivirus, but useless for anyone using memory hacks and similar tools for modding, editing and what not.

I found Avira to be good, and less picky about the tools i choose to use. Not perfect but better than AVG.
