Liverpool 4 - 0 Blackburn

finally owen has silenced the critis, 2 goals, 1 of which was a cracker... ok so it was only blackburn but they still need to be beat and the way liverpool have been as of late, they did the business. we will secure the 4th position, happy to be out of the uefa cup one less minor distraction when hunting champions league place. come on the reds...

That's nothing more than an occasional win in my opinion.

Owen suddenly pops up with 2 goals, that's great, but what about the next matches??? The performance will push them, but, not very far...

I think the 4th qualifying spot should go to Liverpool, ahead of Newcastle and Charlton. And anyone else.

Was it not you who was saying a few weeks ago when he scored a goal that he was "back on form". How many did he score the following week?

You will secure the fourth position? As soon as you get one good win you are back to your best?

Happy to be out of the UEFA cup? I suppose you would be happy that you don't need to worry about getting hammered by Celtic or Valencia, which would show that you're not CL material.

I like the positive thinking but to be honest Owen’s form, like most of our players, has been on and off this season and that’s the case with the team too. I’m happy with yesterdays result and performance of course and I do think we will finish fourth but this season has been full of surprises and it wouldn’t amaze me one little bit if we were to encounter another blow. So I wouldn’t get way ahead of myself, not just yet anyway.

.........apart from?

well really you could say this is still a run of form, one game in the middle doesnt mean the runs stopped so the goals from a couple of weeks ago were really the start of him coming out of his little rut and now he's just continueing it - good timing too with portugal only a few months off

Nah, Gerrard has been exceptional. Hamann’s been awesome. Carragher and Baros, both since returning from injuries, have been in very good form too. Unlike the rest who have had an inconsistent season. Mind you, playing players out of position doesn’t help so it’s not only there fault.

yeah im not so sure 'form' in any positive sense of the word can be discussed until multiple decisive wins are strung together

next season looks great, we have a confident and able dmf, kewell/gerrard, and cisse on the way

it would be nice to pick up some talent for rmf

congrats on 1000+posts kcgpen

stateside i catch very little if any european football.. so it goes without saying i have seen absolutely zero of Djibril Cisse - kazaa has two clips involving Cisse.. one of Djibril and one of Edouard so no help there

but the e-articles and stats do not lie, he is kicking ass at auxerre and more ass than any other french leaguer it would appear - he is probably well past due to graduate to higher levels since obtaining his 10th degree black belt in french league football

It is Djibril that is off to Pewell. Edouardo plays for Brum.
