Look at PES 2012 - they said AI is going to be revamped and more responsive and it was. PES 2013 will contain the 5 things I mentioned but could have a downgrade like PES 2012 did so it might not be a good game. I'm not sure you understand my point as I may have confused you, but all PES 2012 needed was manual passing, shooting, individuality and better AI aswell as defending to be at the most a good game and we will be getting that as they are themselves a new feature KONAMI are adding. If we are not, trust me, KONAMI are going to lose alot of fans for lying. I also don't trust reviews as they go over the top, but when was that PES 2008 review written? 1 month before release? |

Both games suffer from the same problems funnily enough. Although one does more than the other. They both suffer from game breaking scripting and rubber banding and no matter how much the fanboys and developers will deny it. It always has existed, it has to exist for the game itself to exist, however, although its always been there, todays football games suffer from it more than they used to.
Pro Evo for the last couple of years has improved, where FIFA has been the same old same old. FIFA sells to demographic and blind gamers, Pro Evo sells to the football enthusiast and it has something FIFA simply doesn't have. Soul. It's that soul that will keep you going back for more and keeping your interested, FIFA will script the f*ck out of you, until you stop playing the game. Both games have been "hacked" to find out the variables and code used to build these games, FIFA has code during games that will effect how the game plays, most of it is momentum code. Pro Evo has code base on runs of games or wins. I'm convinced we've all had a streak of winning in ML, beating teams with ease and then you'll play one game, where the CPU goalie will be superhuman and there will be a lack of control over your own players. It contains code where the game will see it as "you shouldn't have done that" You shouldn't have won that last game" therefore we will screw you in the next. These are odd occasions though, whereas FIFA runs as the game runs, meaning scripting is almost in every single game played. Shove your licenses up your arse! It has NEVER made up for the gameplay, i've always stood by that. So while FIFA had a good couple of years at PES's demise in 2008 and 2009, NOT because FIFA drastically improved, BUT more so Pro Evo was so poor! ......and now Pro Evo has took over again in many aspects.....although the mainstream will never say that now, they say what they get paid to say! People must not forget, FIFA had 2 years over Pro Evo. Fair enough. But Pro Evo had 10 or so years over it, late PS1 years all the way through the PS2. FIFA was nothing. |

For me pes 2012 plays a superb game of soccer most of the time. If i get frustrated at the game because it's not doing something i want it to, then i put the blame down to myself.
Maybe i'm a little tired or i'm not fully concentrating on what i'm doing. Pes 2012 is supremly addictive and has been for the last couple of years. I think now more than ever you have to keep 100% concentration for the full 90 mins of each game or you will lose the match. Every goal you score is different and that is brilliant . I have played fifa 12 too and for me its shocking , every goal is pretty similar , there mostly just tapins and it's like your players are running on an ice rink. Yes pes 2012 has problems but they are certainly not game breakers far from it. Let's also face it that there are ALWAYS going to be people who are not happy about how pes performs, goodness me if it was 100% perfect in every way there would still be the moaners. I'm just thankful that we do have pes, i'm also thankful that we have fifa too (JUST TO SEE IT GOING BACKWARDS FROM FIFA 09). |

lol@ ppl in here on about games being released in unfinished condition then patching it with DLC.
we live in a different world now. the internet has changed everything. they do that becuase they can. if online gaming would of been as big on ps2s and we know it today, we would of been going thru the same thing back then aswell |

They do it not because they can, but because of people like you who are willing to pay their hard earned money for crappy, unfinished games, which are full of bugs, which are not tested well enough before release!! Why they should put effort in what they do if there are many as dumb as you who will buy that crap anyway!?! |

^But the argument in itself is DUMP, because the ones that are crying about modern games sucking are the ones who aren't looking for good games. Yes, football games failed and so have some racing simulators, but it's not the end of the world because there are other superb quality games out there that offer some of the best experiences ever.
Yes the whole patch after release thing is annoying, I very much agree on that, but hey, back on the ps2, if a game had glitches, it stayed like that forever. At least now, after a few months, many games would be patched and many annoying bugs would be gone. So it's a loose some, win some situation.
