Football v Education

25th May - English Lang/Lit AS Level Exam

26th May - UEFA Champions League Final

27th May - Psychology AS Level Exam

Worse case scenario!

I was really looking forward to going to Germany for the Champions League final if Chelsea make it there! I was investigating flights and hotels and everything then I stumble across my exam timetable and it broke my heart!

I can't believe if Chelsea make it to the CL final, I'll be watching it at home or at a pub while everyone else I watch Chelsea with will be there.

Anyone else's exams clash with football?

that sucks. don't feel too sorry for yourself tho. I live in the US. Not only is it impossible to go to games like these, but they only show one game per matchday here, plus no league games outside of england.

that is all about to change for me tho. I am planning to travel to europe this summer and I will be there for the Super Cup. I'm going to study abroad in Spain next year, and I graduate just in time to get to germany for the world cup. Can't wait, but It is pretty much consigning me to poverty for the next few years. the sacrifices we make

IF we do get there you'll be able to fly out on the day early hours and you'll be bacl on the 27th early hours!plus IF we get there we only get 14,000 tickets with 20 odd thousand season ticket holders it will be a nightmare at the box office

I would have to travel independantly and buy neutral tickets plus there should be enough, 52,000 seater stadium, with both clubs taking up 28,000 leaves a lot of seats.

Nice solution, but can't see it going down too well. My psychology exam (3 hours)is in the afternoon and I'd be completely knackered!

Who knows, may not even reach the final based on our performance yesterday, although on the plus side, the Premiership Plus commentator finally praised Crespo's movement, vision etc... rather than just taking the easy option and labelling him a 'flop' like most of the other commentators.

My AS Exam was on the same time as the Nigeria game in the World Cup

By the way, if any of your exams are in the afternoon then just revise for them in the morning. Otherwise, just revise around the games. It's only 2 hours, after all.

Just go. My mate went to Seville to see Celtic-Porto in the UEFA Cup Final when he had exams on each side of the day the match was on. Just revise a lot beforehand.

The Arena AufSchalke is hosting the Champions League final in May (UEFA)
Tickets applications closed

The ticket application period for this year's UEFA Champions League final, at the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Wednesday 26 May, is now closed.

Showpiece match
The capacity for the showpiece match at the home of FC Schalke 04 will be 52,000, with more than half those seats to be divided between supporters of the finalists, who will be able to order tickets directly through their clubs. Approximately 7,000 tickets were made available to the general public and neutral football fans.

Maximum per applicant
Sales were restricted to a maximum of two per applicant and all applications received during the 20-day 'window' went into a ballot. All incorrect or incomplete applications were rejected, along with any multiple entries.

Ballot
Under the supervision of a notary, UEFA will now proceed to the ballot (lottery) to allocate the available tickets. After the ballot, all applicants will be informed if they have been successful or not by the end of April at the very latest. Tickets will then be dispatched to the lucky winners two to three weeks before the final. Please refer to FAQ for any other queries.

Ticketing terms
All applicants for tickets must accept the ticketing terms and conditions. Action will be taken in cases of infringement. Online applications will be checked against police data to ensure that anyone banned from stadiums is unsuccessful in any attempt to purchase tickets.

Checks planned
Persons attending the final are warned that tickets will be personalised and that checks at the stadium are planned. UEFA underlines that no tickets are being distributed via agencies or brokers. European football's governing body also encourages fans not to be lured into deals with touts who not only demand exorbitant prices but are often not in possession of the tickets they illegally attempt to sell.

Ticket distribution
Of the 52,000 places in the Arena AufSchalke, each finalist will be assigned some 27 per cent - approximately 14,000 tickets. Around 10,000 will be distributed to the European 'Football Family' comprising national associations and all the UEFA Champions League commercial partners. Some 1,700 will be assigned to the local 'Football Family' as the final is being played in Germany.

Security requirements
A further 2,600 tickets will be marketed with hospitality packages by the local organising committee. Finally, 2,700 tickets will be taken up by increased media and security requirements.
