You missed it Ali. We won a free-kick outside the box. We knew O was going to shoot so we all rushed the keeper to try and obstruct him. But before the ball reached the keeper my guy met it on the scissor kick and scored. I could have happily snuffed it right there to preserve the moment forever, especially since I didn't seem able to save it afterwards. Broke my heart.

Just to confirm, I only shoot if it's central and sub 25 yards as the angle suits the shot better than a ball in. That said it would be good to be able to change the free kick style as the default doednt work as nicely as Xavi's for example. The finish from Barn was unbelievable, didn't realise he had the agility.

4-3-2-1 worked very well, was much like the old days when it was the default formation. My finishing and crossing was shocking though, I can only apologise. Does anyone else feel their analogue sticks become loose after a few months of use? Then the next stage of degrading is when the analogue stick causes the dpad to press without being touched. PS2 pads seemed far more durable.

My sticks are still like new even though I've hammered them. On the 360 I had rubber wearing off them because of playing so many football games.
There's an easy fix for the analogue stick interfering with D pad btw. I had that problem with one of mine.

I had the same problem. Basically couldn't play FIFA anymore with it because it would be changing me to super defensive or offensive. This fixed it. All you need is a bit of tape and a Philips screw driver

I done a bit of clubbing there tonight with the lads, some of the rust is gone but I have a bit to go before I hit the form I was in for Fifa12.

What kind of numbers are you pulling these days?

Some good performances last night. If I could give one criticism, is that sometimes people are too eager to bomb down the wing and try to put a cross in instead of looking for a player in space in the middle.
There was one instance last night, where someone had the ball on the right (I think it was Sweey, but not 100% certain [and if it was Sweey, he more than made up for it with that free kick!]), I was in acres of space in the middle, all that was needed was a simple pass and I would have been pretty much through on goal. If we had our mics on you would have heard me screaming for the pass, then turning the air blue when I didn't get it. :lol:

Don't get me wrong though, crossing does work a lot of the time, Barn scores quite a few headers, but sometimes there is a better option to look for.

You are right about that particular instance Ali, I thought Sweey should have passed as well (and then I hoped you would have squared it to me once you got closer to goal, since you were at a slight angle). But I put it down to him taking his role as a winger extremely seriously, putting his head down and just bombing for the line. That's how he's always played, and it's the Sweey we know and (occasionally) love.

I was happy with the formation we used. Worked well, with the RCM and LCM's providing overlaps for the wingers.

Another one we used the other night, which also worked well was a 4-3-1-2, with 3 centre mids, and an attacking mid. So there's a nice alternative if we want to use 2 strikers.

I'm pleased that I managed to get a goal last night, ended a bit of a goal drought.

You've done well being new to it, if I could have one criticism though it would be you sometimes languish on the ball wanting to take a touch when it would be better to pass it on faster.

Also, did you get the VP upgrades I sent you from the EAcatalogue?

Yes I did get the upgrades, thanks.

I'll always try to move into space when I don't have the ball, maybe I do tend to bomb forward I bit too often. With regards to holding onto the ball a bit longer before passing, it's just my style. I'll always try to keep the ball (for the team, not for me) if I can, even if to slow down the play. Would rather stay in possession, waiting for a simple pass to open up than try a quick "hollywood pass" that's intercepted, gifting the ball back to the oppostion.

Yeah.. I only just realised you can share them yesterday and i'm never going to spend the coins or whatever they are so I just sent the ones available to me to Ali because I knew he's new to FIFA so wouldn't have any decent ones unlocked.
I only started playing FIFA last year and at level 37ish so i'm sure you guys are a much higher level than that. I would appreciate some gifts for my VP
