I usually use strategy to swap between 3 and 4 backline .. when playing a 3-backline I use a sweeper - like kompany or heitinga.. heitinga being preferred because he has the d-line star. Other than that I tend to look for marking and covering stars in my defense.. Marquez, De Jong, Marco Motta...

yes, can be very frustrating.. my advice is to focus on the direction you send the pass in - i.e. aid your pass with the controller or arrows (whatever you use) in the direction of your choice.. also keep in mind you can hard-pass by holding down X when passing.. happens quite a lot.. also close...
