PAL PS1 games always had a black bar at the top and bottom of the screen. It's just something that you have to deal with because the games were designed like that.

Some of those are classics. I wish I could listen to some of those comments being said during a game but unfortunately I don't know how to speak Spanish.

It's got nothing to do with how much space is available on the disc. The Champions League licence/mode is missing from PES 2009 on the PS2 because KCET want to pressure PS2 users into buying a PS3 or Xbox 360. Nothing more, nothing less. I bet there won't be a PES game on the PS2 next...

Has anybody tried Semih and Halil Altintop? They appear every time I do a Quick Search by Future Potential. I was wondering what these two are like potential-wise because they do seem to be a bit old to still be developing. The game says they are though which is strange.

I can confirm that there is NO online mode on the PS2 version of PES 2009. The game doesn't have the "Network" option in the main menu and the box cover art doesn't have the "With Net Play" logo on it. So we are to assume that there is no online mode. Personally, I think that KCET know...

Had the same happen to me too regarding substitutions. Except in my case, the new player HAS appeared correctly on the pitch. It looks like the new player is just missing from the little cut-scene on the touchline. It's a bug but nothing major.

No he isn't. I just bought PES 2009 on the PS2 a couple of days ago and Riera is NOT at Espanyol or Liverpool. If anybody wants him transferred to Liverpool then he needs to be created from the Edit Mode.
