As far as I can remember from the impressions of the latest build the game, game speed is indeed adjustable as always.

I don't wanna be knit-picky, but don't you mean tap the R1 button? Holding R1 and tapping forwards on the d-pad hasn't really done anything since PES3, has it?

Oops, sorry, misunderstood the question. I think the problem is, that the option editor doesn't work properly with pes5, only pes4...
