You should already have an Edit/Option file you use when you play PES. To make sure you do, go into Edit mode and change a few things like player's stats or boots or something, then save the changes you made to...
Did you follow the 1st steps ?:
'Make sure you have a default PES 2009 Edit file: In xbox360 dashboard; go to System, select your 360 HDD and copy the Edit File from the HDD to your memory card.'
Yeah, just follow the instructions and you should be ready for some proper Pro Evo action, no more crappy kits!
But remember, these intructions are copied from somewhere else (pesfan forum).
The Datel transfer kit requires a mem card I beleive. If you can return it back, I'd recommend going for the Xport 360 kit instead, this is a docking station which you plug the HDD into. Otherwise, yes, you'll have to get a memory card.
