No, I've not come across anything creepy yet but I haven't played much. The atmosphere is good though, when outside everything is vibrant and colourful and (without spoiling anything) I've been in rooms where it's dark and there's electricity flickering and the atmosphere really changes.

I would say yes but it's not overly free roaming. Lots of shops, paths with dead ends etc to explore whilst on your way from A to B.
