Well one reason is that players in some South American teams are duplicated, because Konami (in their infinite wisdom) have created the team twice, once in the (eg) Brazilian league, and another in the Copa Libertadores.

Yeah. It's bad enough that they seem to pick songs from a year ago that have been overplayed to death (Jess Glynn this year, Bastille the year before), and songs that were on Fifa 15, and songs with horrible autotuned vocals.

Another progress update - after my cup disappointment I managed to win the CL (as well as the league). I played (and won) the "International Cup" with England. Well..... I say "played", but really I mean that I skipped every match but the final. Transfer window has been a success so far...
