Try going to inter and resetting the team, a think you have to press :circle: and he mite come back to inter then you can swap him.

About 30 minutes ago I just finshed season 2011 on my master league with a goal difference of 174, scoring 205 and conceding 31, I was dissapointed with conceding 31 but I play all out attack with two at the back so i'm bound to concede, I see this as a great achivement as I usaly only socre...

Use the option where you can get one of your defenders to overlap, make sure he has good heading ability and he'll well come up for corners.
