Hi, does anyone know how to unlock the 3rd item slot of the players please?

Hi, The only way for me to stop that wave effect going down the screen is to up my monitor screen rate, but when i start a match with this new refresh rate setting the game stutters like mad. Is there a way to solve this problem or have i got to live with one or the other? thankyou. Asus...
