I play as a CMF, and i know that interceptions really boost the rating. Once i had an assist but only 1 interception, my rating was 6.0 or 6.5

One of the weakness of the game that's bugging me too. And CB overlap aint the solution, coz what will happen is one of your CB will run straight up to the opponent's D box.

I think it has to do with the computer changing their formation. Usually in the last 15 minutes or so when they are down, they'll put 3 strikers upfront and attack frantically. Try adjusting/changing your formation to a more defensive one to counter their formation. 2 or 3 DMs would be good.
