Ball numbers?

In AFS Explorer, the balls are listed as ball00, ball02, ball08, etc. Does anyone know which numbers line up to which balls in the game? For example, before you start a match, if you start from "random" as your ball choice, and move to the right one, the first ball you are shown doesn't line up with ball00. Just wondering if anyone knew which ball goes with which, like ball08 goes with the ball 4 to the right of "random". I hope this makes sense, it's kind of hard for me to word. Thanks in advance!

ball14mdl.bin ------> SY1

Same with ball00tex.bin,ball02tex.bin, etc etc.
