how do these attributes affect player performance? i'm fairly new to pes (only been playing since pes2008) and some of the in-game descriptions for these attributes are just way too vague

--attack (no clue how this affects player performance)
--agility (to my understanding, this is how fast the player can turn, yes?)
--dribble speed (is this number the percentage of the player speed when he's dribbling? or is it the actual speed when the player is dribbling... it doesn't make sense that some players dribble faster than they run so it should be percentage right?)
--mentality (how is this different from stamina?)
--team work (how does this affect gameplay?)

if anyone can explain these i'd gladly appreciate it. i understand the other stats so if ppl don't understand those, i can take a shot at it...

im not 100% on these but i'll try. Attack is attacking awareness, positioning, reactions. Agility-yeah i think you're right, quickness of all movements...not sure why you're confused about that one. dribble speed is not a percentage. top speed and dribble speed are not on the same scale. mentality is their ability to perform when they out of stamina. team work affects the other players runs and their ability to receive passes when the player has the ball...just my opinions

Dribble speed is how fast a player dribbles to his top speed. If a player has 90 dribble speed and 80 top speed, he is very close to 80 when he is dribbling. If he has 60 dribble speed and 90 top speed, he is very far from 90 when he is dribbling.

Attack - The frequency of the player being in good attacking positions. Also the frequency at which they'll shake off a marker and find space. In layman's terms, higher attack equals more chance of the striker being wide open when passing to him.

Mentality - High mentality means they'll perform well when the team is tied or losing. Also they'll continue running and trying to find space when tired. Someone with low mentality will usually idle around when tired.

Teamwork - Just like real life pretty much. Like brode said, it affects the understanding between ball carrier and receiver.

Agility you got right and pesral explained dribble speed really well.

To my understanding Agility indicates how movable the player is. How much he moves without the ball and in general..
