Stumbled across this by accident and will be playing it when it is released this coming Friday. Sounds truly wonderful anda s I've only just found out about it I won't suffer if its been over-hyped as I haven't been a part of that. BioWare are behind it, the same company behind Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Mass Effect.

PC Gamer have given it 94% and claimed it is the best RPG of the decade.

The below are worth at least skimming for RPG fans.

I may be buying this. I'm holding out hope for an EU release of Demon's Souls, and in the meantime I require something to fill the game-space! If it's anything like Oblivion (minus the gimped leveling system) then I'm all for DA:Origins.

As for Demon's Souls; I may just get an imported US version. It depends.

This game looks amazing. I had only heard of it when Don posted this topic, but have researched it in depth and it looks great.

I will definately look into buying this, but probably after christmas.

I'm enjoying it and I'm still only near the beginning. The camera is a bit of a gripe but I was prepared for it not being perfect from the reviews I read. I might look into editing the angles it sets itself to but that aside, superb.

Whats your character Sweey? Race/class etc.

Human male rogue who has been a bit of a bastard once or twice and will continue to be.

I don't like dwarves and if I play an elf, they have to be an archer/ranger (not a fan) or mage.

Not a spoiler but something in-game you might not want to read so if not, avoid the below:

I came across a guy who was locked in a cage for stealing but wanted food and water. He had on him a key for a chest. He offered to exchange this key for the food and water he wanted. So I killed him and took the key.

Whats the.....moral system? :)erm:) like?

Is it just like good and evil, or is there more to it than that?

Is there even a system like this in the game? lol

There's no good and evil as such. It is more about morals and your personal views on things. Similar to Mass Effect which had Paragon and Renegade.

As my rogue is going to speciailise as an assassin, he can't be too nice. In fact, he's probably been way too nice so far so I'll be unleashing his bastard side very soon.

It is supposed to be 80 hours in length. I can't compare it to Baldur's Gate because I never finished that and need to go back to it which I plan to do over Christmas along with a second playthrough of Mass Effect in advance of its sequel in late January and also the consideration of returning to GTA IV after a year away when I lost my saves due to hard drive failure.

That's one busy December I'm planning.

I don't even know how much hours I've put into my current Baldur's Gate playthrough. But it must be a mammoth amount. I don't know if there is a way to check. I know the save file shows game time in days, and hours, but I think that encompasses time elapsed while resting and travelling in-game, too.

I may go out and have a check around for prices on DA:Origins tomorrow.

(EDIT)

Damn it! It's not released for PS3 until the 20th! What a fucking wasted trip to town! First of all there is that! And second of all, the only store that carried imported games from Japan and the US is no longer doing so! And with that, my hopes for being able to play Demon's Souls right here, right now, were shattered!

Unlucky Winger

Don, I take it you're playing on PC? How do you think the PS3 version will compare?

Sweey

*RETIRED*
Reviews said the PC version had the best of the interface etc. and was the best version which quite frankly, it bloody well should be.

The PS3 version didn't do too badly overall but the 360 version whilst fully playable etc. isn't as good, particularly where the graphics are concerned.

Just looking at the prices aswell, which quite frankly are ridiculous.

£35 most places for the PS3 and 360 versions, opposed to the PC version which is going for £25 in most places.

I'll be getting this on the PC.

Well i'm using a laptop more than my actual desktop nowadays.

It plays COD4 and AOE3 without any problems at all; Empire Total War it struggles with a little bit.

3GB RAM, Duo T5550 CPU (1.83 GHz), 250GB HD... I don't know what else you want to know lol.

I think i've got an ATI Radeon HD2400 as graphics card.

Yeah i've been looking into a new graphics card, as I know it isn't the best. Might think about buying a new one soon.
