I've got WE7:I on order from play-asia and it will be the first time I've played this game, much less patched anything. I've got AnaMorphOss's webpage bookmarked... if I just follow that step for step, will it provide all the info I need, or is there something even more fundamental than that that I need to know? This'll probably piss some mod's off, but I've downloaded the beginner's editing guide that hitman provided and some error occurs and all I get is a blank wordpad doc.. so if it's cool just to go by AnaMorph's, let me know.

Well, WE7I is on DVD so you'll have to do some extra stuff before you can patch it. Just look in the sticky guides here and you'll see a guide for patching DVD-Rom games.

Apparently previous WE's required CD-R format, so what I'm gathering is that I have to purchase a burner that does DVD format as well... I'll look around on the threads for the DVD process.. thanks for the info. My dumb ass would've gone ahead and tried to burn it on to a CD-R, I'm glad you said something.

You rip from DVD to a CD image, so you can burn it on a CD-R. Its not needed to have a DVD burner, altough you need a DVD-ROM, b ut I guess you have one..

ooo, ouch, no I don't have a DVD rom.. Damn, talk about learning to fly while you're falling...do I get special incentives for posting dipshit newbie questions, in rapid succession? I promise someday I'll be able to answer dumb questions instead of asking them.

So here goes the next dumbass question.... So all I need is a cd burner, Verbatim cdr's, and a dvd rom?

I prolly won't mess with patching the US version. But oho, you can bet your sweet ass I will patch the Jap Int version when it arrives on my doorstep.

So if there's going to be anything special in the patching of the JapInt version, lemme know. Until then I'll wait for Jonboyo or Wendetta or whomever to get the patches out for it.
