Please vote so we know what the community feels about the current system used to rank teams in order for promotion/relegation.
For a start, I would prefer quick match to be renamed divisional match, your opponent when searching for this match must be within your division.
Currently it is possible to start a week on 500 points, draw 1 game against an opponent with 520 ranking points and gain enough points to be promoted. Hardly realistic in reality now is it? What incentive is there to play when you are just above the promotion cut off point?
I propose that the league standings be processed in the same way that a tournament standing is currently processed with a few tweaks. Using your best 10 match streak (or however many matches to be decided) playing divisional matches, then ranking the teams in order of points, goal difference and goals scored to decide who is to be promoted/relegated. An example would be if a users best 10 match streak playing divisional matches was W6-D2-L2 they would get 20 points in the final league standings table. If a user only plays 5 divisional matches within the week, they can only achieve 15 points.
To punish users that disconnect, a points penalty system should be introduced. Breaking a connection in a divisional game should deduct 1 point from your weeks standings, so if your best 10 game streak playing divisional matches for the week is W6 D2 L2, but you broke connection in two divisional matches your points tally would be (20 - 2) =18 points.
To implement this system no divisional ranking points would be gained/lost by playing tournament matches. Tournamets would be nothing to do with your weeks divisional play. This opens up a world of opportunities with regard to tournaments, a whole variety of competions could be created each with different rewards/unlocks
Imagine the depth this way of doing things would add. Your weekly record can only get worse if you disconnect. You will be constantly batteling to add one or two more points to your weekly total, even scoring one more goal could prove the difference between relegation/promotion. A far cry to the current system that rewards you by sitting on 502 points, where one bad defeat against a lower division opponent unfairly cripples your points total.
This also opens up a club history opportunity, where a page could be designed to show a teams performance in previous seasons. More depth.
*** money matters *** At the moment the way we make money is directly related to how many matches you play. This gives an unfair advantage to those that have all day to play PES. If the money was related to your final points tally in this system, it would be fairer for everybody.
I am sure you agree, the divisional '10 match' rankings system is far better than what we have at the moment
