Yes it is. KONAMI may have made some stupid decisions in the last couple of years, but i don´t think they are so stupid as to remove the most played mode from their game.
I think Konami realise not everyone can afford to play online every year, and Konami's strongest asset has always been the single player or same-room multiplayer matches. The ML online is just a nice addition.
