Max Drive problem :(

Im not sure if anyone has had this problem.

I recently bought a Datel 128MB MaxDrive. When I use the ps2 maxdrive disc, my slim ps2 (model number SCPH-75001) asks me to enter format disc.

I tried it on my buddies slim ps2 model number SCPH-70012 and it did the same thing. I even tried moving the reading laser down because its a small cd.

My maxdrive ps2 disc version is 1.36. I'm not sure if the disc is bad or if its not compatible with these slim ps2s.

If anyone could help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated . Thankyou.

this happend with my brick ps2, i found out that the disk was the problem because the disk is easily broken and unable to use. so the disk maybe the problem. my advise is if you do get another max drive for the disk then keep the disk in a safe and clean case otherwise it is bouned to happen.

but this mau not be the problem, im not sure if the disks dont work on the slim lines.

Yeah I sent Datel and email about this and I'm waiting for a reply as well. Hopefully they'll let me ship out the product and get a new one back. Maybe its the slim ps2s, who knows .

i think it is pointless of the small disk. why cant they just keep it normal sized and this problem will never happen

i just got my max drive in the post today and the same thing happens to me. anyone know a way of how to get my PES6 goals from my memory card to the max drive so that i can put them on the net?

Just keep resetting your PS2 , it will come good eventually.

it worked, ive copied my goals unto the max drive, i just need to figure out how to get onto youtube or something.

Mine used to do that. What I did was constantly restart it about 6 times without it even loading. Should work then. Try that a few times mate, should be working soon.

Dunno why Max Drive discs do that, really sucks.

I am having the same problem. I've restarted the PS2 many times but the minidisk is not recognized.

What I've noticed is that in the front of the mini disk says "For use on U.S. console" but in the back, next
to Version 1.36, says "European". Perhaps, the disk is for PAL version. I've sent datel an email about this and waiting for reply. Anyone had the same problem?
PS: I have a slim PS2.

if i remember correctly, Max Drive dont really work well with the slim PS2, a lot of people have reported this and they also had a slim PS2. dunno
