Just recieved a mod chip through the post, but it didn't come with wires to connect it. Can anybody tell me what wire I use and where to get it.

Could you also tell me if there is any other equipment I need apart from soldering iron.

Sorry if this thread annoys anybody, seems simple but I haven't got a scooby! and I didn't know where else to put it.

cheers.

It should really come with instructions for installation including a list of the bits you need.
I guess you'd need some solder and bits of wire maybe.

If you haven't got a Scooby, then you shouldn't mess about with the insides of your PS2 or you'll soon be kissing it goodbye. Chipping should be done by experts.

bbbybx, I tried to install the chip by myself once. I had all the equipment, wires and instructions.

Piece of cake, I thought, but when I opened the PS2 I could barely see the soldering parts. So I used enlargement goggles, and sat nearly 4 hours with the damn thing. I checked every soldered part for short-circuits and found nothing. So I put the PS2 back together, plugged it in and........nothing! (The screen went black and the disc wasn't turning.)

Took it to an expert and now it works.. If you're not an expert with fine-electronics I suggest you leave your PS2 alone and give it to someone who knows their stuff. ;)

Depends where you are located.
One place that I know is good is www.thebarras.co.uk based in Glasgow.

Or there may be a market near you with someone who can help.
