Option Files Conversions?

PES4 PS2

Hi folks,

I have the ability to transfer files to and from my memory card via my networked pc.

A lot of the option files here seem to be in a different format from the PS2's native save format. Is there a utility that can convert the save files, back to the PS2's normal file format.

That way i could transfer the option file directily to the card, and the PS2 would pick it up.

Many thanks.

Not really sure bout that. Instead of patching the game, i bought a MAX drive for £13. Its alot easier. All you do is download the files on to it (Its a USB drive or something like that), delete your old option file and replace in with the downloaded one. You get real kits, player names and starting line up and the like but nothing like the changes when you patch. Your best off searching through the threads for one.

All option files posted here are either of type .xps or .max - which should be transferred using an x-port or max drive respectively. There is also the bin/cue type which is burnt to disk.

This is all after unzipping the file of course. If you told us what format the files are for you it would help a bit but I don't think it'll do much. Best to just buy a max drive.

Thanks for the replys folks,

The file format im talking about is the standard PS2 save format that the console uses when saving game data (Im unsure of its exact extension name)

As you correctly point out the game saves are usually x-port or max drive types. I dont have x-port or a max drive, but i do have to ability to transfer any file to my memory card, or PS2 HDD using my PC.

Im using Execftps on the ps2 as an FTP server and i can just login to that, and then browse the PS2 Memory card, HDD etc & transfers files etc.

Im think im right in saying that the .max, or .xps are different to a standard save file format - so i couldnt just drop a .max, or .xps into my memory card and expect it to work, so is there a pc utility that can convert the .max, or .xps into a the standard file format.

Cheers!

Since you don't know what the format is I doubt there is such a convertor. You're the only person trying to transfer the files this way. Everyone else uses the methods I mentioned above.
