Ive only done a few but as far as i can tell the ball has to be crossed behind the player and just pull back and shoot it will depend on the player but thats all ive ever done it really does depend on the cross and player!!

tr1n1ty is right, it very much depends on having the right player in the right place at the right time. I think it's harder to do and harder to score with in PES2008.
