PES 2009 and editing.

As we all know and loathe, EA, being the hungry money grabbing thieves they are, have had a habit of exclusively licensing leagues around Europe, effectively hijacking those leagues into the poor gameplay of Fifa games. Fortunately, Konami always had the editing option and the first thing any self respecting PES player does, is either download an option file or patch, or spend a few hours changing all the names themselves, it's become a sort of tradition to perform after purchasing each installment.

With PES2009, from what I gather, comes a new editor with a pixel paint option which basically nullifies the need for lenghty complicated patch sessions or a very lenghty renaming session. This effectively makes making PES "license proof" a matter of downloading and installing 2 files (Option File and Editing File) rather than a lenghty editing or renaming session. A very smart move by Konami as they basically license their game through their community (free) rather than directly (crapload of money), and I highly doubt the English FA is going to bother too much about it seeing as it is a freedom that gamers should have, to create their own shirts.

All in all, I can't wait for PES2009, it's what PES2008 should have been.

Opinions?

Your right mate.

I would much rather be given a vast amount of editing tools to make my own kits than have a bunch of license kits and practically no editing which means you keep the exact same strip throughout all your career mode ie Master league (pes) and Manager mode (Fifa).
