I have read a lot of the posts about PES 2011. There have been some positive and negative feedback of the demo: some say PES is still broken, some say its the best ever PES. So I thought I'd have my two-penneth also.
Having been deeply disappointed with the last three PES efforts (PES 2008,09 and 10), I can honestly say I have never looked forward to new Pro Evo as much as this one.
After I first got the demo, it took me a couple of games to get used to the new passing system. After I got used to it, I thought it was fantastic. To actually be truly able to put the ball wherever you want is a joy.
The big thing about this new freedom is of course, that you can actually play any style you want. In past PES, you had to play a certain way to get wins. In PES4, crossing didn't get you many goals, so it was short passing through the middle, with a team built for that purpose in Master League.
Similarly in 2010, because of the player's slow-wittedness around the box, it was all about wing-play and crossing to get goals.
But in 2011, if you have a team with a good target-man striker, you can play direct or crossing. If you have two fast but short strikers, you can play through-balls and a short game.
In essence, this is the first PES which really enables you to play like Barcelona or Stoke - You can actually set a team up to get the best out of them tactically, rather than just tailor it to play the way the game wants.
A lot of people have been reporting 'game breaker' bugs such as the wing slow run problem. I have to say, when I first read about it I immediately played a game on the demo (top player) to look for it. I hadn't noticed it before, and as I suspected, I was simply closed down. I have found the AI simply closes you down all over the pitch, so I cannot really comment on that.
For me, this is by far the best gameplay in any PES. I have found little to moan about apart from the replays after every single foul - its reassuring to see Konami haven't completely lost the knack for shooting themselves in the foot.
Konami do deserve a lot of credit this year though. It was do or die for them, another beer mat, and it would surely have been more or less curtains for the series.
One irritation however for me is the cameras. The games graphics look good, I am lucky enough to run it on full whack on the PC, and it looks very polished and smooth.
However, the two camera modes available use the swinging 'broadcast' style view, which I found a bit disorienting at times. Hopefully the full game will give the option of the normal parallel camera mode along the side of the pitch. This is a small gripe really, considering the things we had to moan about in the last 3 games.

I am very much looking forward to the new Stadium Creator. A fantastic addition, which hopeful over the next few games will become more detailed and expanded.
This was the final piece in the jigsaw in being able to create a wholly unique custom club.

I basically buy PES every year for the master league - to build a completely custom club from the ground up over unlimited seasons is every football obsessives dream.
Since I have been able to find virtually zero information about the Master League in this year's game, I can only assume it is unchanged from last year. This is fine with me, as it was by far and away the best thing about PES 2010.
Hopefully the money is a bit more realistic however - the valuations for everything in the game was very low - Defoe for 5 million for instance.
On the whole I think this years game will destroy what little social life I have left like a good PES should. Can't wait!
PS- If anyone has any links with detailed and accurate information about the Master League in PES 2011 I'd appreciate them being posted!
