PES3 (WE7) graphics and animation

Just downloaded the videos for Winning Eleven 7. Have to say the quality of the videos are rubbish but from what I can see there has been a big improvement in the graphics and animation. The graphics engine appears to be more dark and colourful compared the the dull, faded look of PES and PES2. The players seem more smooth and rounded instead of the sharp edges in PES2 though other people in the game (the guys lined up by the tunnel) still look rough. As for the animation there are also many noticable differences. The players lined up in the tunnel move around and jump about a bit rather than walking onto the pitch like robots, players also stagger around and fall back after twisting and shooting. The players also seem to have more weight to the, their knees seem to "squash" while they walk. Any low points? The crowd seem dull as usual and the goal celebrations seem to be getting worse. Despite this I'm very impressed, can't wait to play it (or even see a hi-res video) and hopefully the UK version will be released early November!

i like the fact you can hear the stadium announcer when you score a goal. also the replays look more realistic than in pes2.

i liked the way the ball bounced along the ground on the passes, which also seemed a bit quicker, rather than skimming along like it was on a bowling green.

Most of what you have seen is also in WE6:FE and not that much was new.

Europe will not get a 'sequel' to WE7 but a sequel to PES2.
For some strange reason, they are going to make it different to WE7 in some ways which they haven't given more detail on yet.
I don't see why they should do this.
If WE7 is good enough for the Japanese, it should be good enough for us Europeans too.
We don't want an inferior arcady game like PES2 again!

eah, players staggering, being knocked back and falling over and stuff is in WE6:FE on Gamecube. Speaking of which, anyone heard anything about the possibility of a Gamecube version?

i heard that sony have got exclusive rights for pes3 from konami so i think it should be a ps2 exclusive.

I have said this on loads of other threads but... PES is tied to exclusively to Sony as a series for the forseeable future (but then so was Resi!). GC will get the WEs on import. Ok? ;- )

Do you know that WE7 is coming for gamecube, or guessing? None of the previous versions were released for Gamecube in Japan, and WE6:FE sold really poorly on Gamecube compared to PS2. Plus, all the WE7 hype is for PS2, with not even the slightest mention that it would also be coming for Gamecube, either at the same time or later (whereas WE6:FE for Gamecube was announced at the same time as the PS2 version I believe).

No guessing in an informed way thru all the stuff I've read. Ninty users normally go for out there games and straight arcade games bit like DC people used to.

From what I've seen up to now (images, video) the close ups are looking more like Virtua Striker 3 than PES2/WE6, which in my opinion is not a bad thing.

Sorry to go off the subject a bit but i've got a couple of minor improvements that would make PES the ultimate game on the planet. like a ref on the pitch, instant replay, players erupting(double sendings off etc.) offical kits but i was wondering that these are quite obivious improvements and whether FIFA hold like contracts for all that type of stuff.

from both the videos i have noticed that another great improvement is the technique the players use to volley. Not the stupid forwards lunge anymore but the more realistic flick from under the ball to give top spin! Superbe!!

I like the way the player staggers and falls on his back after spinning and shooting, a bit like FIFA actually.

well from the whole video it looks absolutely amazing! I can't wait! I can't pick a single fault from seeing the movies. I just wonder what the commentry will be like. Same old rubbish i bet. But the gameplay does more than make up for this minor floor.

With the past versions of PES/ISS Pro they have used European commentaters to translate the Jap commentry from Winning Eleven, which made it very poor. In the new versions regiuonal commentry is being started from scratch to make it sound more realistic.
