Player names... Look in

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I was wondering if it was worth me putting my time into changing the players names to the full names eg. Shearer to Alan Shearer etc.

Do they look okay when edited? Is there any problems with them?

Please someone reply

Thanks

It would take ages for something not that necessary, so it's your choice.

Also, you'll be really annoyed when you do about six teams and then realise "Ruud Van Nistelrooy" doesn't fit, and so you have to make exceptions, which as a result look wrong, because they're different from the majority.

Stick to surnames, especially if you use the "Player Name" cursor. Or even if you don't, as many names will be cut-off in the Formation screen. Use initials to distinguish players who have repeated surnames (A. Smith, T. Smith), and use further parts of the first name to distinguish players with the same initial and surname.

E.g. As. Cole, An. Cole.

Roy Keane and Robbie Keane should have the full names.

The WE7 Wendetta patch has names set like:
"Shevchenko A." and "Maldini P" which makes sense.
Probably quite useful in the ML transfer market too.

In my own PES2 option file, all players in the game had first names where they fit and first initials otherwise. But it did take ages. I'm happy to use files made by people like Georginho for PES3.

Agree.

If you really want to cahnge all to "Alan Shearer" style, I suggest this:

T. Henry
D. Duff
R. Carlos
P. Kluivert

It's fine with me.

Or maybe without the dot :)

But putting the names like that as mentioned in the last post will make it harder to find players in the ML transfer mode if you don't know their full names. Like Tijani Babangida and Mr Mahdavikia....

Isn't that the same as A Shevchenko and P Maldini???

And how about those like Babangida where we don't know their name too?

No its not, really.

Fig 1:
A Shevchenco
A Smith
H Kewell
P Maldini
T Henry

Fig 2:
Henry T
Kewell H
Maldini P
Shevchenko A
Smith A

It would be a lot easier to find players by their surname, yes?
What Zyg is saying is if you put the players initial before their surname, it fucks up when you're searching.

Or it'd be a lot easier to just leave it. Why would you want to spend that much time on something so insignificant? Just address things that Nifty said with the Keanes and Coles etc. dont give yourself needless and pointless work

But like that why not just remain as it is???

See here:

Isn't the first one better????

Kewell H, just as good as
Kewell

don't you think????
