The EPL & CL v2 patch is a beautiful update, but a real pain to install, with a tonne of files to be imported all over the place. So I decided to use the "create patch / import patch" feature in the latest version of AFSExplorer (v3.0) to create 1 big patch of the EPL&CL patch. This means twice as much work the 1st time you install, but afterwards you have 1 single patch that can be installed in seconds instead of the better part of an hour.
Great for newbies and those who have to reinstall windows all the time.
Also, you can easily switch between different patches in minutes. This will be great when La Liga, and other future patch packs are completed.
I have made a Wolf Xmas quick patch as well as the EPL&CL quick patch. Each quick patch contains just 3 files, and you only need 2 tools to install them: AFSExplorer & WE7_set_default_color. For the EPL&CL patch they are the following:
-wolf_EPL.CL.v2.0_quick_patch_v1.2.afp (82MB with all the binary data)
-wolf_EPL.CL.v2.0_quick_collarfix_v1.1.dat (a 16kB file for quickly fixing collars using the WE7_set_default_color.exe program - no more ppf-o-matic for me
-wolf_EPL.CL.v2.0_quick_optionfile_v1.0.zip (the option file)
I can now swap between Wolf Xmas and EPL&CL in under 5 min : I've come too far in Master League to abandon my old team just yet
It took a long time (several hours) to make the quick patches, and to save others the trouble I would be willing to share them with those who want.
Although the time invested taught me the internal structure of the data_e.afs file, as well as using the tools, I definately believe that for the big patches it is better to quick patch, or at least to have the option to do so.
My suggestion to Wolf and other patch creators (superpatch, wendetta etc) is that you make 2 versions of your big patch packs - normal way with lots of files in a zip file, and a quick patch for those of us who are lazy or newbies
Well, now that's said and done, I'm gonna stop patching and start playing for a change...
