Can anyone tell me the significance of the star next to the players overall ability stat??

Some have it and some don't. How is it determined who does and who doesn't?

EG - Arteta has a better overall than Fellaini, but doesn't have a star. However Fellaini does?

What does it mean? Do these players start games more often etc?
