The be all and end all or ratings in BAL

Not being arrogant (well slightly), but this is how to get good BAL CMF ratings (and all other positions as well probably)

1. I’m getting annoyed with how many people think if your team loses this effects your ratings. It doesn’t, simple. IT’S JUST ABOUT YOU.
2. My BAL player is 26, CMF at arsenal. Not great stats, but stamina is 95. this essentially means I can play the whole match (unless very tired), in turn meaning I have the best opportunity to get good stats in a) passes b)touches on ball c) interceptions d)shots. This is what counts. Player map means nothing (I’m 100% certain of this)
3. With reference to above- ratings are calculated on a full 90 minutes (unless you are a substitute coming on). So if you’re subbed on 70 mins, your stats (shots, passes, interception, distanced dribbled etc) will be calculated as if you played a full 90 mins. Thus, Stamina can be a key!
4. What you essentially need to do is this: Work hard when not in position, not necessarily running from side to side on the pitch, but try to get and intercept the ball as much as you can. (a couple of easy ways is when defending corners, get by the near post, or when defending free kicks from the half way line or in the opposition half, get near the front of the pack of players waiting for the delivery of the free kick so you can intercept) The more interceptions the better. (Interceptions for a CMF especially is vitally important!) You need to shot. Preferably on goal, but shots in general are key) Distance dribbled like many have said does also have an effect on rating but don’t let this dominate your game as it could have a negative effect on other aspects of your game.
5. Do not be too afraid of lose passes. Try to get assists. (you’re a.i players can be useless, but try to make the right passes and through balls- in essence this is football)
6. Obviously, assists and goals help ratings. But I find, even if you don’t score or assist, if (in a 15 min game for example) you make roughly 8 or above interceptions, a lot of touches on the ball, quite a few shots and a fair amount of distance dribbled this will get you a 7 and above at least in the ratings every time.
7. fundamentally, try to take control of every game you play in, whilst being a team player.
8. And if you want European and world player of the year, the most important thing is to be the best player in as many tournaments as possible. (by that you essentially need to get to the top of the scoring or assist charts/or potentially both) Ratings might have a slight factor, but to perform on a wide scale and in most, if not all comps, that is what will get you these awards.

I agree. Also, it seems possible, as strange as it may sound, that the ratings are based partially on your player's stats. It could be a coincidence, but it seems to me that a player with a 90 average who plays the same as a player with a 70 average for stats is going to get the better rating. Not sure how this works, but if it's true I don't like it.

Anyway, totally agree with the above. It's more about effort. Don't worry about losing the ball, just be more involved and your rating will be better than if you make a few good plays but do little else.
