Things that are good about PES and things that are bad.

Ok, so here are some of the things that really and i mean really piss me off about PES3:-

1) The new way the cpu teams defend - fair enough PES2 was too easy too score but the way to solve this is not for the cpu to put around 7 men in the penalty area whenever you try and attack and coupled with this no attacking player drops outside the box meaning you have little optio other then to pass back to your defenders or 'lump' it into the box and hope.

2) shooting - what is the point of a power bar if after around 1/6 of it the ball flies over the bar. Also the almost telepathic ability of the cpu defender to know when you are going to shoot and block it - very annoying.

3) dribbling - funny how michael owen running at full speed with the ball can be caught by the likes of david weir - again an attempt to solve the problems of the last installment with an inferior solution.

4) support play - when a forward is running with the ball - no one makes a run ahead of him i.e you could have a two on one situation. So with the man on the ball you run at the defence, you expect the 'man over' to make a run so you can play him in on goal, yet this rarely if ever happens and by the time any one supports you the cpu has about seven men back in the box (see point 1)

Things I like :-

1) the new tactics/formation set up

2) the tricks - not really mastered any of it yet but when I have done one and it comes of it is cool.

i think there are a few more good points than that. I'm not gonna list them but I'm sure there are. The only fault I noticedwas that they had stupid formations. E.g. John Terry on the right wing for chelsea. But that can be edited. I love the game. Just unlocked the Editors last night and ready to start a new master league tonight.

Good things

1)The new commentary
2)The new licensed kits and boots and ball
3)The new improved stadium atmosphere
4)New skill moves
5)better animaton except for the goalkeepers
6)the highlights music
7)the intro screen
8)the replay mode
9)gameplay although slightly tricky
10)more player stats

Bad Things
1)The loading times
2)the stutter although not THAT bad
3)the ball always being blocked
4)players are never foward for you except when you run down the wing
5)goalkeeper animation
6)the way their strikers will take round half your team and score
7)the manual pass mode-useless

just adit it with the stragety editor. 3k PES is easy to earn. 1 * cup matches and win them. Just do the african, asian and american cups. That way you can give yourself bys to the next round and therefore have less matches to play.

I agree giggsy, whilst it is very hard for the human player to dribble the cpu team seems to have no trouble going on mazy runs,

i don't think it is THAT hard to dribble all you do is just keep running and u will slowly start beating the defender and by hitting the direction button in the direction you are running it hits the ball in fornt of you and makes you faster.

yeah it is. can you just complete the training challenges, win the points, then delete the training challege data and start gain and earn the points again? I cheated, forthe free kick one I oput cambell, hierro, nesta etc. 148cm. I am hopeless at free kicks.

If there's so much you dislike, why do you even have the game? Honestly, i can't understand these petty little whingers who continually buy the pro evo games and then moan about them.

If i thought about it long enough I'm sure i could pick all kinds of faults with ANY game, let alone pro evo 3.

Good idea, lets never give any negative feedback about games and that way they will never get better. Sorry I will take the game back now and never play it again, how dare i be critical about something I have shelled out 40 quid on, silly old me.

And as for being a petty little whinger I would like to know how you came to such a conclusion as to me it seems my post is outlined and expressed in a very logical and concise way, outlining my points in a non sensationalist 'PES is sh*t' kind of way. So i would like you to outline to me which of my points are 'petty' - as a consumer I do have the right to critcise the products on which I have spent MY money.

Also I think you will find this is a forum - and debate is what forums are about - please tell me how your non constructive nonsense of a post added anything to this debate???

It seems like i've touched a raw nerve.

And congratulations on on realising that this is a forum where people debate with one another. That's exactly what I'm doing with you, and yet you seem to be offended by the fact that I have taken issue with your point of view.

No you have not hit a raw nerve and nor have you substantiated your claim that I am a petty whinger - you say you are debating, well the topic of the thread is what good and bad about PES, please show me where, in your two posts, you have debated this.

I have told you some of the things I think are good and bad and you seem to have taken the bad points as some sort of insult. You have neglected to give any opinion on the subject matter being discussed and resorted to name calling, you may well take issue with my point of view - fair play, i have no problem with that, but why dont you tell me your opinions on the points I have made rather then just criticise them with no explanation???
