transfer option file without xport

i want to update my option file of pes4 at my ps2. i'm aware about xport but i have read somewhere about another method to transfer to ps2 your option file.
You have to use a cd which boot the ps2 and you transfer whatever you want.

is anybody who have more details?

Thanks for the link tiktiktiktik.
You need a chipped/modded PS2 to load option files that way.

X-Port and/or Max Drive are the best ways to transfer option files.
