WE8 on an older telly....

My telly in my room unlike my telly downstairs doesn't give me colour WE so i set about to make a disc which would let me have colour WE.

So i tried a patch which Raish from this site sent me on msn which allows you to switch from ntsc to pal or whatever and basically allows you to play in colour.

So i made a new disc and copied firstly the Fernando 0.4 patch and then copied this ntsc patch. It all seemed to work and i selected pal y vert or sync (cant remember what exactly it was called and it started in colour.

However, when i started up the game it was kind of like how pes3 ran on my pc when i had my mmx 440 card and not my 9800 pro ie pretty damn slow.

So anyway i tried it in ntsc and it was fast but in black and white!

Anyway Raish then told me to try DVD loader. Now its been a pain in the ass as it requires a lot of switching discs etc and swap magic often can struggle to load but anyway i couldn't get the latest disc to work with it so i tried it with my orignal WE8 copy (a copy without any patch etc just a normal backup). I was over the moon that finally it looked like i had colour WE but then i realised the goddam thing was black and white!

ARRRGGHHH!!

Do i just get a bloody rgb cable - will that do it?

Or what?

my friends got an old tv. he uses swap magic and when he puts it in colour the game is really slow too. is it the TV or does everyone with swap magic have problems.

The solution to Black and white is a decent RGB cable. Check previous B&W threads for details of recommended types.

But my telly might not be good enough.

I bought it when i got my ps1 so that must be so so long ago, (try 8/9 years or whenever the ps1 came out).

If it plays WE at all (which is NTSC) then there is a chance it may be good enough to play it in colour using the correct cable.
