My preferred formation throughout the PES series has been as 3-4-3 with a midfield diamond regardless of who I play as. I just set this up, stick it on all out attack and away I go. I win most of the time with this, and often win well, but it can be troublesome if you go a goal down. Recently I was struggling for form on my Master League and decided to try out a 4-5-1 (with 2 DMFs) to keep things tighter at the back. So I set this up with counter attack as my strategy....and went goal crazy.
It's 2007 on my game and I used Lupoli who's develdoped well up front on his own with Ronaldinho tucked in behind him. He scored 14 for me in 4 matches, including 6 in the WEFA Championship vs. Real Madrid! I just don't get this. Do defenders struggle more to mark one attacker than 2 or 3? This seems to be the chase. It's so easy to pick out an individual striker with a through ball and Lupoli even seems to get onto most of my hoofed clearances that could go anywhere. Admittedly after a couple of goals most sides tend to bomb on and only leave 1 or 2 at the back, but even so I don't get how I tear sides apart with 1 striker. Maybe I just hit some form! Anyone else experience the 4-5-1 goal feast?
