xbox option file without max drive

Anyone know if there is a way to get an option file to the xbox without having to buy a max drive. Its not that im cheap but i dont live in england and ti would take ages for it to be sent by mail.

So is there a way to get it to the xbox hard drive? I read that you could do it the cdr way on the ps2, is there something like this i could do on the xbox?

Help appreciated.

If your xbox is chipped you can ftp the option file to the Xbox from a PC using an ethernet cable.

Can you install the option file using a CD-R and/or DVD-R? I would also like to know more about that... Anyone?
