Try and find a player with immense swerve and freekick accuracy. The default Pirlo is good as well as Ronaldiniho. You can always choose the one and only Beckham of course. I recommend going into training mode and practicing. Set the ball about 25m or so away from the goal.

The trick is to aim in the middle of the goal (ish - depends on the swerve amount) and try and get the power bar (press square) just on the halfway mark. This allows for a powerful yet controlled and ontarget shot. Try different lengths from the goal and try and get it in the top corner.

You can try just on the edge of the box but i recommend to press O (circle) there to try and chip it over the wall and into the net.

Hope this helps.

is there any specfic buttons i should push to make it curve?

I basically need a rundown on how to do freekicks properly.

That is major curl. I simply use the right or left arrow buttons/analog stick. After you release square to shot, it will show the player running up to take the shot. At this point press and hold left or right to curl controllably. It all depends on the amount of swerve your free kick taker has.

Make sure you hold left or right AFTER you release square and continue holding it until it goes in :p

if you're looking for power shots from longer ranges, dont bother with swerve, look at players with shot accuracy/power/free kick accuracy, and hold up when shooting the freekick (when the power bar comes up) and when the power bar come up release it just under the half way on the power and hold down X to give you some dip.

L2 and R2 dont make it curve i think, it's used mainly for multiplayer. It changes where you shoot so you can trick your opponent into thinking you're going for far post when after a like2 secs hold of the L2 button you'l then shoot for near post. At least that's what it was in the pervious version of the game

I have tried a few things out over the weekend.I aimed between the goalie and the wall, there is usually a gap between them.
I curl it away from the goalie and it usually ends up in the back of the net.

I've been messing around with freekicks in practice, heres what I found out.

Now you people probably want some massive curve on the ball and still maintain some speed AND dip and are wondering, how do I do that?

- -

I've found out that if you press the direction BEFORE you press shoot you will add more curve/dip.

So here's what I do with freekicks. I aim a bit more to the left or right then I usually do. After that I start pressing left/right and down at the same time. You will probably think, doesn't that alter the direction?

That's why, after you started pressing left/right and down, you press the shoot button to around half of the powerbar. During the action of pressing the shoot button you keep on holding the left/right and down keys. You can even add the triangle or cross button to add more power/dip.

This should be done like a milisecond after you pressed left/right and down!

This will give the ball extreme curve and extreme dip but still maintain it's speed.

Triangle adds more power
Cross adds more dip

Right adds curve to right
Left adds curve to the left
Down adds even more dip
Up adds even more power

Here's a video of a "Left + down + cross" combination:

(sorry for the crap quality!)

Anyway. Hope this will help some people.
