Top 10: Things that will make PES 2009 great.

I would like to see penalties improved greatly. Like for big occasions say like the World Cup final or Cup final theres like a pressure meter or something and the shooting gauge is like the one from Fifa where the more pressure you are under the more chance you have of missing it. And the keepers have animations to do as much as possible to put the taker off.

i agree with pesfan maybe the penalties should be revamped from just pressing a button to say using the shoulder buttons and the right analog to take it.

also one thing that would cream my pants, ronaldo's free kick animation :w00t  :dribble:

Wait...
I hope they include the ability to watch a replay of a previous passage of play, after the ball has gone out of play. I know it won't make PES 2009 great, but still, It's a bit absurd that you can't do this already.

Original?

Get rid of most of the special abilities, the majority should have a true statistic not just an on/off switch. Penalty Taking should be a statistic for example, as should slide tackling, marking and playmaking (renamed as creativity). They should also expand the mentality attribute to bring elements such as temperament into the game to make it more realistic.

Excellent point, up to the part where everyone commits suicide when trying to create a new player.

Then don't create a "new player". Changing the Special Abilities is a MUST for any next gen Football game. 100% agree with 'Original?'. And by the way, Penalty, Sliding Tackle, Marking, etc, etc.. - are all individual techniques, and they should all be individual stats.

I think they should show a lot more statistics of the players like amount of appearances for their club,100 league goals, leage home record (like chelsea unbeaten home record) most leage goals score all time etc

Wait...
I hope they show the man of the match at the end of a match, like in previous versions of the game. It would also be nice to see a lot more atmosphere when playing, like the crowd booing the away team, and if the dive feature is still including next year, the crowd jeering a player who has dived, throughout the game.

yeah, M.O.M needs to return and loads more stats are needed, ground covered / pass completion / team of the month - season / goal of month - season.

basically, it just needs to emulate the great football manager for the master league side of things with the great playability of pro evo, a perfect mix if done right

1.more intense contact between players
2.blood and nasty injuries
3.better defensive response to speedy wingers
4.keepers that can taunt
5.unique chants of each club and country
6.referee to be a solid figure for realistic ball deflection
7.real stadium for each club and country
8.real face of each player
9.more international leagues
10. better management mode

Last but not least, currently the ML can be boring at times because invariably the same team will occupy the same top spots. Eg. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool & MU. But since we are playing the ML for many years ahead it does not necessarily mean that these team will continue to occupy the high positions. I would like to see minnows eg Derby, Sunderland becoming a powerhouse through some complicated programming where they are bestowed with some great classic players in the course of ML competition. Over the course of 10 or 20 seasons, I would love to see a major transformation. Eg. Arsenal dropping to Div 2,
MU languishing at the bottom of Div 2 due to poor succession of great players. ML can only get better.

2nd. atleast 2 v 2

3rd. online leagues and cups.

i know this might sound a bit sick

but how about actual injuries like cadburyho stated.
but im talking about full on injuries, like if john terry slid into ronaldo and caught his ankle or something, maybe his ankle could break with a replay being shown, or maybe it just says 'ronaldo has a broken ankle' and they can have realistic time off like 8 months or something. with the injury stat being a feature in all the pes games, maybe it could go down or up depending on how many injuries a player picks up in a season. alos better commentary would be good and real money like pounds or dollars or even euros.

some good ideas but i think it just needs minor things like -

- PES shop return
- scenario mode return
- full edit return
- more players online, so 4 v4
- online leagues
- master league - able to move clubs (like FM), multiplayer (like FM)
- Unl;imited saved goals (save online goals as well)
- career mode (ie. take one player and train and improve and move from club to club), this was in a previous version and was really good fun

yeah i agree, but u can save online goals, after the game just go on highlights nd press a go through the goals to your one.

Jester you do not sound sick. Konami should reflect the game as in real life. The game plays almost like in real life. Konami should not stop and think when it comes to injury. Just reflect it as in a real game. Konami has nothing to lose but everything to gain. It does not sound violent even to a kid even if a player's face suddenly get smashed in due to a messy clearance or a player breaking an ankle due to a heavy tackle cos these things happen in real life. It will even better if Konami add blood to reflect the state of the injury. Football after all is a physical game. Everyone knows that. If blood or nasty injuries are introduced, the game will even be more realistic. Is football a violent game with blood resulting from a tackle? Definitely not, unless if the players end up like in Fight Night or Smackdown vs Raw. And the best thing is that both these games have blood for realism. I just hope that one day Konami will wake up to this idea.
