Formation is a 4-4-2 midfield diamond, but adjusted to function like a 4-1-2-3, with a CF-SS-AMF (pushed way forward) triangle, SMFs almost only one notch behind AMF, single roaming DMF on own edge of center circle. Sometimes I play a 4-3-3 that works out to a 4-1-1-4, with an attacking diamond, forward staggered CMF in front of DMF in midfield.

well after some transfers I now have

GK:
Akineev or Given (usually Akineev imply to train him but if need be I'll sub in given as his goal keeping stats and defence are up to 97 now.

def:
Micah Richards kompany, cannavaro, bale.

Cannavaro is hellishly old and his stas keep decreasing. But they stay ;level if I play him all game. And even with decreasing stats he is impenertrable with a 97 defence. But due to his age I managed to get him transfered on a 600 salary and for just over 6000. So easily worth it.

mid:
ribery, shimisu or vander vaart, fujimoto or messi (sometimes solano playing with RMF or RB

att:
aguero (ss) gervinho, schwarz (cf) subbing in owen every now and again (mainly training up those 3)

Other subs I tend to use are Taylor, Cacapa, Geremi and Dotan (donovan) on occasion

Seems to be shaping up really nice. Hoping that Shaw, Palmieri or Gambino will appear in the next trasnfer break to get them on my team.

Ronaldinho and maybe Eto'o

They're not all that to be honest. If you've just started the game Ronaldo (portugal)/Nani/Walcott/Shaw/Lennon aren't that good while Eto'o and Ronaldinho are in their prime. After a couple of years you'll see the difference. Nani and Walcott are brilliant, top speed and accelaration 99. Ronaldo (portugal) doesn't quite make it up to 99 but he's still quick and has a mean strike on him.

Just signed Yashin, Adu, Duffy and Nedved.
First impressions:
Yashin (1 start; 0 sub appearances): Excellent, for an 18 with seemingly poor stats. Made a string of fingertip brilliant saves in his only game so far, and helped enormously to the 1-0 scoreline.
Adu (1 start; 0 sub appearances): Pretty good, good in the air given his height, and can beat people, needs work on finishing and crossing though, but at 24 is an excellent prospect.
Duffy (0 starts; 2 sub appearences): Contrasting games really. His first appearence, in the league, he came on around 60mins and got sent off harshly for a nontheless rash challenge 25mins later. Was generally quiet in that game til then. In the other game, he still went in for a lot of sliding tackles, but timed every one to perfection and ran the show for the last 30mins, stopping Real Madrid from getting back from 1-0 down. His only mishap during the game was a collision with the referee, and even then he won the ball back with a great tackle. He already has great stats and will only get better.
Nedved (0 starts, 1 sub appearance): I didn't really get a good look at him in the 20mins he played against Manchester City, but he passed alright and didn't lose it once. His stats are very high for a 21 year old too, if he grows into the same player he did for me on PES5, he'll be immense. Actually I had Torres and Duffy in that team too.

well I have sold ribery and geremi and possibly thinking of selling owen has he hasn't got long left before his prime is over. However Gambino and Rowland have appeared. I haven't actually ever seen anyone mention rowland before. But his stats start off rather well and looking at his development chart it looks like he will be absolutely amazing. I shall tell you how it goes.

He's a dick. Too damn hard to beat! I got one goal in 2 games vs Lens, 0-0 and I lost 1-2 (with a reserve team in fairness) and he must have made 50 saves over the two games. The single goal I recall was a great great blasted curving drive from one of your other players - Laudrup.

Speaking of YP, thanks to PES '08's awesomeness and realistic goalkeeping, his sorry ass gave up the most pathetic OG I've seen in ages today. :realmad:

I can't imagine playing Brian Laudrup (Landroam is his in-game name) on the reserve team. 8^| I haven't unlocked his brother yet, but I have seen another Laudrup floating around. Do you know which one you have, and how is he?

Given stays good for at least 3 seasons. I jsut bought Akinfeev in the first window and trained him along side given. Given is absolutely fantastic easily one of the best goalie's in the game. Also where is owen. Owen is a goal scoring machine for two seasons. When it comes to the third he goes down rather rapidly though but for thiose two seasons abuse his growth and talent. He has scored over 70 goals for me and I stopped playing him about hakf way through season 2 to train up my other strikers. Also I would have never played geremi in defence. I thought his defence stat was rubbish? Try taylor. He is really quite good and decent growth.

But I know what you mean about keeping it young I'm the same. I got rid of nearly all of my starting players. I have even sold martin. Main reason for that was is the only good thing about him was his speed which I have messi and owen for now plus I made a crap load of money selling him.

I think my oldest player is cannavaro followed by given. And I'll be getting rid of those as soon as I get some better options like palmieri and ramon.

Laudrup is a substitute, not a reserve, sorry. He's excellent, but Agbonlahor and Torres have been slightly better. Gervinho doesn't look much good, might give him a chance though (as I have looked through my ML history and I've given loads of players no chance when I should have)

And on the topic of PES's amazing keeping, I just faced Sunderland in the D1 Cup, I had Gordon in goal for me, and they had my ex-player, Ben Foster in goal...

I won 10-0.

Yeh I sold Owen even though he had 53 goals in 1 and a half seasons, sold him to milan for a lot of points, but aguero is doing the business so far! thanks for the recommendations

Yeah I'm just starting season 3 and am about to sell owen you just know I am gonna get a lot for him and little do they know he will turn into a mahoosive pile of dung. Aguero is actually shaping up really nice for me aswell. I'm currently just training up rowland and shimisu's body balance as they badly need it. Then I think I'm probably going to buy dos santos, boan, maybe drenthe or was even thinking of seeing if I coul persuade Man U to give me Nani.
