How can Next Gen Consoles improve the ML Mode??

we should be aloud to choose our own array of fireworks to choose from at the start of the match and during halftime there should be a destruction derby on the pitch where each team in the league battles it out to be the best........at destruction derby.

Maybe you could have a sniper of your choice from a list to take out the opposing goal scorer.

Hi guys, first time poster but long, long time lurker.

I've been playing PES since PS1 days, gave it a miss last season and kept with PES6. I have always loved the Master League (like many of you I have put more hours into it than I care to remember) but I agree that it does need sprucing up for the new gen.

Managers and their personalities are something that are often overlooked in (non manager) football games but I think they are part of what make the game, particularly the Premiership, great.

An idea I have had for a while would be when you start an new ML, you create your manager's appearance like you would create a player in the edit mode so you could make your own likeness or you could be Fergie, Mourinho, etc. if you wanted. Then in cutscenes you could be there leading your team out at the cup final or jumping up and down when your team scores.

You could also have other managers in there controlled by the AI with their own distinct style (e.g. Rafa constantly rotating his squad) and that could add an extra layer of tactics trying to out-think the manager as well as watching the players.

Another thing I would like to add is ability to change clubs, get offers from other teams, even international sides and possibly get sacked if you underperform (straying into Football Mananger territory, I know but why not?)

Thanks for reading my pipedreams that would probably be near impossible to implement. Forgive me if anything I have mentioned above were in last years, as I didn't play it. I am getting a PS3 soon and hope to be getting this year's PES, all being well.

Yeah, great ideas.

Nice idea Hitokiri, being able to create a manager would be great. Though, for the lazy ones, an ability to pick from a bunch of pre-made managers would also be needed.

Then, this could be tied into the "Press Room", as you sit with your captain answering questions.

So much possibility.

Yeah but can we all just relax and be happy that PES 2009 is getting the series back on the right track?
You guys have all good ideas and I like them all. But right now or in the next couple of years its IMPOSSIBLE and id rather Konami always improve the gameplay then add such a HUGE feature like the "press room". Its too complex to worry about now.
We have gotten great news about pES 2009, Konami seem as tho they have actually listened to their fans in secret.

More Modes
Better Graphics
Import your own mp3 ( they know theirs are not very good hehe )
Edit mode and Pixel paint editor
More licenses ( and whats bigger then UEFA CL, I like this more then the EPL )
GAMEPLAY ( it basically tells u right here that Konami have listened. They know we dont like PES 2008 much at all and the pace is too fast. So waht do they do? They go back to PES 5 and IMPROVE upon it gameplay-wise and Graphics )

As far as i'm concerned, Great job KONAMI, you have saved ur asses with this game.

Well, you do need to read the title of the thread.

"How can next gen consoles improve the ML mode?"

In other words, how far and how in depth can the master league go.

We are just saying things which we believe would add depth to the game, and something different and unique.

Don't be afraid to dream, nothing is IMPOSSIBLE.

Well you need to read what I wrote ( I said I like all your ideas ).....and stop watching Adidas commercials.

Instead of week 1, 2, 3 etc it should be a real Calander with the League starting in August, & ending in May, plust real transfer windows, with 1 at the beggining of the season, not the end!

REAL MONEY, not points!

Golden Glove award

the ability to take up a new job at a new club half way through a current ML season.

World cup & the Euro, which to can view at the end of every 2 seasons (you do not play in them, just get to see the final table, & how some of you players got on)

I like ur ideas mate...

Changing transfer points for real money is an obvious & in my opinion a needed change which is long over due.
And the master league should be running from the actual calender months with the transfer windows at the appropriate times during the year.

I really like the idea of watching the squad players during world cups, euro championships, copa americas etc, i think this would add a new dimension to master league as it could mean who is performing well at major tournaments & also helping to unearth new players.

I know you said you liked the ideas, but there is no reason why they can't implement them. The technology is there for them, and if they really want to make people stand up and take notice they need to implement it.

no they dont need to implement it yet......ill be 100% satisfied with a the 'OLD' PES gameplay. With better grafix more modes and better gameplay. Better online.

Well I didn't spend $700 on a next gen console to play old gen Pro evolution.

then you shoulda bought a 360 which cost 400 i believe. And if you dont like it DONT BUY IT! it really is as simples as that....but we know u will buy it so just shut up

I like the youth idea and what has been said about the press room. But the latter would need a lot more time and work before it is implemented into our game.

However, I believe the youth system could easily work.

At the beginning, middle & end of the season, you could get offers from a youth coach saying 'so and so think they are ready to play with the first team'.

Then with that, you also get a short evaluation of the player, like what special abilities they have and what their potential is. Of course not every player will be destined to be a superstar.

Some may not even be good enough to be promoted. Some may only make it as squad players.

Basically, we would have to rely on the luck factor to get a highly rated player say once every 3 seasons?

Would be nice to see pounds instead of ML points in PES master league, i agree with L.F.C the youth system would work without a doubt.

I had my reasons for buying a PS3.

I just had high hopes for improvements in NEXT GEN games but I havent really seen it in football games yet. And yes, I know it has only been one year, but either FIFA or Konami should try come up with innovative ideas to suit the next gen.

I know what you mean dude and I know we still have not gotten a NEXT GEN football game.

But i think a huge PART of PES is its SIMPLE yet COMPLEX approach that the developers approach it with. There are some awesome ideas here honestly.

and heres one of my ideas. i do like all of ur yours and i like the that one idea with that room and news articles....but not many would read that.

The biggest improvement I think the ML can have is the commentary. It needs to be CONTINUED from game to game, from week to week. and so on.

For example: One week you win a Cup game and you win a League game in convincing fashion. Then next week you start off by losing 0-1.

Commentator in the clsoing minutes in the game in which you are losing 0-1
"After having such a fantastic showin last week, Inter have really come out flat in this one. There is still time left but even if they manage an equalizer you have to conclude that inter has not shown its best form. Your thought on the game, Mark?"

something like that i think would improve the ML more then ANYTHING....

just imagine the realism it would bring to the game.

That is basically exactly what I would like implemented. I loved the old gameplay, but there are a shitload of things that can be implemented to give it the depth it deserves and needs, especially for next gen.

Dunno1982

Yeh the commentary needs to be improved & keep up to date with the teams progress week in week out like what proevofan88 had mentioned.

I think the youth team development is something konami should definately look at for future games as i believe it is something that can easily be implemented, i think a youth team set up in conjunction with an in depth training programme between games will make it far more enjoyable, would also like to see players picking up injuries during these training sessions or even during the games like a forward clearly seen running for a long ball & then pulling up with a pulled hamstring for example would be realistic too.

Well I didn't spend $700 on a next gen console to play old gen Pro evolution.

That's exactly the Point of this thread, Next Gen Consoles came hand-in-hand with New Possiblities.. Those New Posibilities, that Potential for Revolution, Nowhere to be seen at the Moment.

I do agree though, that a PES5 with good Graphics would be welcomed This year.. the 1st Football Sim with both Graphics and Gameplay. However, the thing that concerns me is that Konami might get lazy -and- keep the same game for some 3 to 5 years.

There's No Reason or Excuse for not Implementing "Revolutionary" features to an already good game. I think, a PES5 with Graphics would be awesome this year -BUT- Konami needs to start (if they haven't yet) working on a New Engine, a Next Gen Engine.

Anyways, I think we shouldn't Label things as "Impossible" at such an early stage.. Next Gen Consoles are just getting started. We didn't spend a LOAD of money just to play PS2 games with Updated Graphics.
