Official PES 2009 Demo Feedback

Starting to get rather confused with the reviews..one person saying the game is great and another saying its bad..

The game is good, it's fun to play but it seems you can't be critical on the forum. I mean come on how many years are we going to play a game that looks similar to last year's game???

Again the goalkeepers make blunders
the pace is too fast
and Rebounds are scored many times

It's a fact some people are just blinded by their fanboism, like 2xsngp for instants

Graphics look much better, the lighting helps a lot too.
It is very different to PES2008 in game play terms. You really have to work to get chances in this game. Played as Liverpool v Barcelona and only had one chance all game with a Torres one on one which I dinked past the keeper and agonizingly hit the post and away. Still, only had 2 games so still possible to find some negatives but i'm satisfied with it.

What is funny is the Liverpool crowd, you can tell its a bunch of Japanese singing in English. Think the crowd chant import will be getting used quite a bit.

Graphics look loads better I think. Only problem is that I can only run the demo in high in a window, otherwise I have to select a rubbish resolution. From screenshots I wasn't sure about how the kits would look, but they look good to me. Some good animations too. They've done well with the Ronaldo animations. Taking a penalty with him is great! I was worried about the kits not looking that great from some of the screenshots, but they look good. Player faces are more or less the same as 08, although the skin seems more realistic.

Sound is decent. Playing with a 5.1 setup,the opening sequence sounded excellent. The menu music is loads better, tolerable even. Crows chants sound a bit odd though.

Gameplay is better, a lot slower but at the same time loads faster; removing players from a wall is lots quicker, keepers throw the ball out quicker, taking quick free kicks is better. Players get in much better positions. I seem to use the radar less because players are exactly where i'd want them. It seems a lot better for counter attacks than previous versions.

Keepers seem better, they still spill the ball a lot though.

Yup I'm totally like you, amigo. I try to play FIFA like I play pro and it just doesn't work. I got bored of FIFA quick. . Meh, one football game is more then enough for me.

i downloaded the fifa demo aswel. I felt the same when i play pes...when im absolutely shit face drunk. Just meh, playing the demo thinking " not long till new pro "

If I wasen't mistaken, dosen't PES 09 have a power bar for passing? Because the demo is still automatic just as pevious versions.

Damn some of you suck if you can't score in this game on Top Player...

Anyhow, gameplay is different. Doesn't feel like 2008 but still feels like PES.

A glitch seems to be that I cant play with a digital pad. I have to play with analog sticks. That fucking sucks.

Graphics I could give a shit; This is a football game, not a Hello Kitty bitchgame. Nonetheless I will comment that graphics have improved (or moresay looked improved and next gen)

AI feels (defensively) better. Played Henry on the wing with France and he didnt get away too many times...That said Henry remains unstopable just like PES6, PES 2008....

Overall, a pretty good OK standard PES game. Don't expect to be :-O

Madrid's defensive line is AMAZING...You don't watch the spanish league too much do you? The perfect line is Ramos, Pepe, Cannavaro and Heinze. You start switching up and yes, it has defects.

And Gallas is no laughing matter; Theres a reason he's in the french squad, captain of Arsenal, and his quickness, play vision and reaction is amazing.

no am not an idiot in your option there amazing my line up would be Carvalho Carragher Cole Brown and by the way Liverpool are not crap we have one of the best defences in Europe

and i think the demo is ok the gameplay seems alot better than last year

as you can tell im a madrid fan, that my team, and i can tell you that the defense is bomb on paper but the shit they do to casillas is criminal...theres a reason why lower teams only try to force corners on us...for some reason the 4 sick players dont talk to eachother...its getting better but still its tough....it pains me to say it but the best d line in europe right now is probably chelsea

I would probably agree, Carvalho and john terry are a wall, but... Man united have the best defender in the world in rio, and vidic plays solid alongside him, evra is the best left back in the prem. In need of a solid right back though as Brown isn't great at the moment and G Neville is over the hill... plus the new cafu and roberto carlos (the Da Silva twins) to be the future right and left backs.

I downloaded the demo over an hour ago.

My Likes :
-How the computer made subs even though they werent losing or had injuries
-Say the ball goes out of play, the goalie is about to kick of, i can pause it and watch the replay leading up to the ball going out !
-computer still dives lol, Yellow carded tho
-the body balance affair looks to be resolved. not one player can rip entire team to shreads with sheer ease constantly
-the computer gets men back quick style when theres a breakaway
-MUCH harder to score. so far ive scored the same goals basically, looking forward to my first long ranger
-The Colours. you need to see it for yourself
-The pitch being Wider, you'll notice yourself when playing it
-Goal Keepers making some sexy saves than 2008's DEFO wouldn't have

My dislikes
-Its 15 days till the 17th of October
-Noise of the ball when its touched. I got used to it tbh
-I cant see the Computer scoring many against me.
-Advert coming up EVERYTIME you finish a game for Become a Pro/Online Legends. ( NOTE : easy way to get around that, simply quit the match in the 90th minute, takes you back to the main menu and problem avoided )

All that needs to be answered now is will the online play be 100% Lag Free like Offline Mode ? if so ... this will be a gem of Pro titles in my opinion

Formations are out of date as everyone knows, I think its clear that Konami have sorted it for the final peice tho. Robinho is at Real in the Demo, but ive seen pictures of him in his Man City shirt, so im 98% confident the team line ups will be sorted

I like the overall feel of the game. It is a lot better than 2008. I very much dislike chants so far. Played as MU and the chants sound terrible. I can bear with the menu music(which is better this year) but chants...
